Adyar Vaishnavas Thattu Idli Kadai — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

Thought to try this recently opened restaurant here because there is always such a rush inside out. Place is too compact to sit ideally 20 members can eat at a time. So rest should wait outside. I have seen people / online delivery order people waiting out there. So i tried their signature dish one day - thattu idly sprinkled with idly podi and ghee that can serve one person sufficient enough(equal to 3-4 normal idlies). It would be so soft and hot that you won’t feel like eating which is served with sambar and two types of chutneys. Whenever i order this, this idly would be so hot and good to eat with ghee and podi sprinkle combination. Too many dosa varieties and fried rice reciepes as well. Service is partially self service. First pay the bill and find a place and have the food. Ask and get then what you require. Though people who starve could lose there patience due to waiting time. So please improve the space capacity. Cash/card/ online upi payments...

Pathetic Experience: [Costly , Taste-less, Un-hygenic ] :Thought of ordering Thattu Idli, even before billing told them I need it hot. The cashier told the idlies are always hot there, Just one idly was served on my uncleaned table, the idly was sprinkled with some Idly podi , the sambar was very bad, it had garlic and dhall - worst sambar I have ever tasted in my life. There were two chutnies kept on the table and which was watery - should have been kept as such for a long time it seems - that was also not good. When coming to the Idly part the idly was hard (mainly because of Over Cooking and due to low quality rice) and difficult to eat. Price was bit higher (Rs 50) than decent dine-in restaurants . I was also hearing people complaining about the food is not served hot. Could see North Indians making Idly , dosa etc inside the kitchen. Totally I would never ever go to...

I would prefer not to go there again. I had Thattu Idly, but it didn't taste good. The idly lacked softness, and the spicy podi, which should ideally be the highlight of Thattu Idly, was also disappointing.

If it weren't for the poor service, I might have considered giving it another chance. However, the service provided here was absolutely terrible. I wouldn't recommend anyone to try this place and end up feeling disappointed by the service.

The cashier/manager at the counter was extremely arrogant. There was no sense of hospitality, no smile on his face, and he spoke in a rough tone that didn't encourage customers to order anything else. He even shouted at the waiters, creating a chaotic and unpleasant atmosphere for the customers.

The ambiance was nothing special; it was just a regular, small eatery.
