Most of the items in the menu are not available. Biryani which they are famous for are hardly available most of the time. More than thrice it has happened that we went there to eat only biryani and ended up eating other dishes coz of non availability.

Based on my previous experiences as mentioned above, this time I made sure to ask the restaurant manager who was standing at the entrance whether mutton biryani is available and he confirmed to me that it is available. I went to wash my hands and got seated and placed the order for mutton biryani. After waiting for 10 mins at my seat, the waiter comes back to my surprise and tells me that they don't have mutton biryani instead tells me some dishes that are available in the kitchen. I got really irritated and called the same manager to ask and he told me that he just got a call from the kitchen that the biryani available is not in servable condition that's the reason why they are not giving me.
I think their strategy is to get the customers seated and then give them the option of what food is available in the kitchen and what food they want us to eat instead of giving food that the customer want.
I dint want to eat what food was available in their Kitchen and left the place without ordering anything. At the time of leaving the person at cash counter asked about the issue and when I told him the scenario, he gave me another wonderful reason that they got a call for party order and all the available biryani got booked (in a span of 2 minutes between me going to washing my hands and placing the order).. Strange !!!
Never going to visit this branch again, I don't know if other branches are like this. I suppose the one in mount road is good. Never faced any issues...

Read moreI was on a long drive when I noticed a Buhari outlet on the St. Mount–Poonamallee main road. Having frequently dined at their Mount Road branch, which has always upheld great standards, I decided to stop here for dinner with high expectations.
The parking area is spacious, and the interiors are clean and roomy. Wash areas and toilets are standard and well maintained. So, the infrastructure and ambience were quite good.
However, the overall dining experience fell short, mainly due to menu limitations and lacklustre taste.
We ordered mutton biryani, chicken kothu parotta, and appam for a child. Unfortunately, appam was served without any basic or light side dish options. They did not have coconut milk or even sambar. The only choices were heavier gravies like kuruma — which were not suitable, especially for a kid recovering from travel fatigue.
All the dishes, including the soup, tasted average and unimpressive, far from what I’ve come to associate with Buhari’s brand. Compared to the Mount Road branch, which consistently delivers rich flavours and quality, this outlet was underwhelming in taste.
That said, portion sizes were fine, and the staff were friendly, professional, and prompt.
To sum up: The infrastructure and service are great, but the food quality and menu flexibility need serious improvement to meet Buhari’s known standards. If just one item was disappointing, it could be overlooked — but every dish we tried lacked the usual flair. Possibly a weekday miss, but...
