I had heard good things about them and decided to get my wedding cake done from them. For my December wedding I contacted them way in advance on Instagram on September 24th 2019 to get it checked off my list. I called a few times to no response. I sent them a DM on Instagram and got a response on September 25th 2019 and told them what I wanted. They responded again on September 26th 2019 asking for my number which I provided immediately to which they replied that they would get in touch on September 27th 2019. Nothing from them for days on end. I sent a follow-up message on 03 October 2019 and another one on 18 October 2019. No response. I sent another message on 06 November 2019 to which they responded and sent their number and asked me to WhatsApp them, which I did immediately. I was in touch with Sanjana. She got back to me on 07 November 2019 and we had a long detailed conversation about the order and we confirmed everything. She told me to wait 5 minutes while she prepares my costing and a bill and that was the last I heard from her. Refused to reply to messages thereafter and never picked up the phone either. Extremely unprofessional, wasted all of my time in discussing everything and finally as I was planning my whole wedding from abroad and in the stress of the last minute, we ended up with no cake for my reception thanks to them. Definitely would not recommend them for any important day. If you cannot fulfill an order or are overbooked, please have the courtesy to say so. I had a disappointing time when I placed an order with crumbs and layers. It was a pre engagement party for my close friend and based on another friend's suggestion I chose to order a customized cake from this place. First and foremost they weren't very forthcoming. I had to do regular follow-ups for the Order confirmation. The customization turned out well, but the pickup was sloppy. The delivery place was closed when our friend tried to pick up the cake. The timing was already conveyed to them, yet none were available. So again after repeated calls and followup, we were given the cake after we had waited for half an hour at the pickup place. The cake looked really nice and it matched the image that I sent but was a bit dry inside which was still okay. My major disappointment was the topper was misspelled and they did not bother to respond when I had enquired about their mistake in the topper. On the whole, my experience with Crumbs and Layers was unpleasant and they dont understand the importance of customer service. I stumbled upon the Crumbs and Layers Page on Instagram and was blown away seeing Sanjana's (the baker) skill and craft. Her finesse and polish of every cake drew me closer to placing an order and I'm soo glad I did. I ordered the chocolate cake with chocolate ganache and it was such a HIT! Every one said it was just pure heaven and delightfully rich! The top had a few Ferrero Rochers with gold details and chopped hazelnuts. It was just perfect! What's amazing is that Sanjana was able to have the cake delivered for a fee and thank God for that as this was a hassle free experience.
