Food Village — Restaurant in Tamil Nadu

I recently had two of the most important celebrations of my life at Food Village Resort – my marriage reception and later my baby’s first birthday – and I must say this place holds a very special place in my heart now. From start to finish, the overall experience was excellent, and I am very happy to share my feedback.

The first event was my marriage reception. Naturally, it was a big day for us, and we wanted everything to be perfect. The team at Food Village Resort ensured that the arrangements were well-organized. The hall and outdoor spaces are spacious, clean, and beautifully maintained. The ambience set the right tone for the event, and the staff was attentive throughout. All our guests appreciated the way the arrangements were handled.

The second time we came here was for our baby’s first birthday, another milestone moment for us. Without any second thought, we chose this resort again because we already trusted their service. Once again, they did not disappoint. The decorations, seating arrangements, and especially the food quality were top-notch. Every guest complimented the taste and freshness of the dishes served. The variety was impressive, and the service staff made sure plates were refilled and guests felt taken care of.

What makes Food Village Resort stand out is not only the quality of service and food but also the very reasonable pricing. For the kind of service, ambience, and food they provide, it feels like true value for money.

We visited Food Village last week and expected a weekend crowd there but didn't see too many customers. The good thing about a restaurant like Food Village is that since its not a typical restaurant with tables in a single room, the crowd if any isn't really visible. The tables which are in individual huts are spaced out amidst the lush green gardens. The parking area is small and is likely to get quickly filled up. Right inside the entrance, there is an open kitchen to the right and huts to the left. There are green spaces everywhere in between. I did not see too many huts though. There are ducks and turkeys going about and any sudden movement seems to provoke them and they come chasing. We ordered Veg manchow soup, fresh lime soda, egg Biriyani, butter garlic naans, mushroom pepper masala, and veg spring rolls. All items with the exception of fresh lime soda were good. We had specifically asked for less sugar in the sweet, salt mixture but they seemed to have misunderstood the request. A flat sugary water was delivered to us. Waiting time for lunch wasn't much thanks to the less amount of customers there. There was a children's play area which is best avoided. Swings and everything else were rusted and not maintained well. There are couple of areas at the back of the restaurant which are meant for functions, receptions, birthday...

I have been to this place two times. Earlier with friends and we had dinner served in restaurant. This time I went with my family and We opted for vegetarian buffet. Adults: ₹350 ; kids: ₹250. Food price is very economical as compared to other restaurants on ECR. Points to improve: Ambience is great but the furniture is old which kills the vibe of this place. Food quality can be improved, the one with we ate felt like Marriage food. Ice cream was simple vanilla with no options. Management can increase the price but give great quality food because the place is great and people would love to come here for food. Buffet menu can be made better and with more options. I felt too much oil in cauliflower (could be just me but I felt it)

Is not all bad, place is great for photo lovers and there a small park for kids but be careful during night time as there are lot of plants and there can be insects or anything.

Overall, nice ambience and with slight quality improvement in food it can become a great hanging out place.
