Their no oil no boil “raw” food concept might seem nice but this restaurant is just managing its menu with ingredients like coconut, peanuts, and jaggery as its main components.
They use poha for literally everything as it does not have to be cooked - hence no oil no boil! Poha literally has no nutritional value on the whole. It’s stripped of its whole nutrients as an end product. They add wayyyy too much coconut and coconuts are extremely high in saturated fats, which in the short term keeps one extremely full causing digestion issues and in the longer run clogs your arteries!
They use 3 - 5 times the quantity of coconuts to the poha ratio in their dinner items - 1 (poha) : 5 (coconut milk). If one has to pick the veggies out of their so called poriyal - it wouldn’t even amount up to a tablespoon! They use way less veggies for their own claim of vegetables-rich platter. I dare them to cook food without coconut, peanuts, cashews, jaggery and poha and then claim it no boil no oil. Oil in moderation is much better than the amount of coconut they add into their food.
While raw foods are extremely good for our gut, I wouldn’t suggest Padayal’s model of food - it’s extremely UNHEALTHY! If you want to try raw food, I would suggest make your own salads at home - which would any day be healthier than what they serve as a joke for 250 bucks! Youtube has far better quality of recipes than this joke of a food. They say unave marundhu but their menu totally lacks nutrition. It’s sad that people get fooled easily.
Also, please, don’t join ANY of their ACADEMY COURSES. They will lure you in claiming to teach you recipes, you would pay 20k for a course and waste not just money but your valuable time! Their academy is a joke with half baked ideas and ideologies from all walks of life. They have ZERO nutritional ans scientific evidence to back up their claim!
And both the instructors are UNPROFESSIONAL lacking professionalism even at the basic level.
None of the students’s doubts are answered instead FORCED to blindly follow what they instruct and force religious rituals in the name of holistic approach. I challenge them to back up their ideas and teachings with science and nutrition!
They are a quack academy reeling and prying on desperate people. If anyone feels like spending 20k, please donate it to some charity or spend the money as you wish instead of giving it to them. The management is good at false marketing, i’ll...
Read moreAt first I thought the restaurant and it's diets were healthy. So I opted for their 48 day mandala course which was mentioned in their restaurant. They conducted a orientation class and it didn't say anything about the curriculum of the 48 Day course. It was just a sales pitch to bring people in. What I came to know after joining the course was that the course is a week's course stretched into a 48 day course. No recipes were given with proper measurements. I thought this was about raw food cooking but I was sold more of cult rituals. The classes were conducted without proper prior information about timings and the instructors Banu and Sivakumar were more about pushing their ideas into people than listening to everyone. No proper scientific backing was given for what they said. All are incomplete ideas taken from different spiritual communities and sold in the name of diet and lifestyle. They said that individual follow ups will be done which never happened because both the instructors were very busy with selling padayal everywhere.
Almost all of their dishes are made with coconut and its a proven fact that using too much of coconut in the diet will add a lot of saturated fat in our body. No long term effect of their diet on human body is studied so only the future can say. There is a lot of coconut in the preparations and very less vegetables. Cannot eat at the restaurant for two consecutive days feels very heavy and might upset stomach which i experienced personally. I thought I would learn raw food cooking but all they taught was religion mixed with spirituality. They say they're promoting vegan lifestyle but they got ghee as an exception which was totally immoral and unethical.
I was sold the raw materials like poha and other pulses from padayal restaurant for the 48 day mandala program which i was made to buy for the course. Most of them got insects within 25 days. When I confronted Sivakumar about it, he responded with an unprofessional behavior mocking me that I didn't follow the diet properly. It is upto everyone's freedom to follow anything. Highly unprofessional and rude behavior I have ever seen. The money and time I wasted here felt like the worst way I have ever wasted money and time. For me, I had a complete experience of how well people sell half baked ideas. If any doubt please go ahead and experience it...
