Attn: Mr.Ramasubbu, (The Managing Director of Shri Balajee Bhavan),
I went to this branch at Poonamallee (near Aravind eye hospital) on 21-06-2025, 21:05 hrs (an hour before writing this review). I ordered 'set dosa with vada curry'. One waiter took order and it took more than 10 mins. I called that guy when he passed by me. He didnt even heed to me and was roaming here and there and chatting with his co-waiters. I called him again and politely asked, if you said this item will take time, then i would have ordered another food. He replied "it only 10 mins", in a rude manner. I called the branch Manager (i forgot to ask his name) and explained him. He was such nice enough to understand the issue and he apologised for the incident. He also promised that he will escalate this issue to you (MD of the restaurant) knowledge.
In this branch, many a times I have noticed the waiters chatting with each other without even noticing the customers calling them. Such a cheap, unscrupulous, lacking in discipline and cheap mannered guys employed by the renowned restaurant is the sad part and unfortunate to the customers who pay for their food. Few matured/aged waiters are decent though. Many customers suffer the same kinda disrespect but because of their time constraint and other busy life they dont escalate such issues.
Remember.... every single customer go to restaurants seeing the credibility of Restaurant, the quality of food..... but not because of the reason seeing a waiter working there. We the customers pay for the food even if it is in thousands. Your waiters must stop thinking that they provide food from their ancestral property or free of cost. They are only intermediary between the kitchen and the dining table. We the customers dont come to restaurants expecting food free of cost so that their waiters will misbehave with customers. Hope everyone reading this will agree with my this view.
Its not your waiters who bring customers to your restaurant, but its the brand name and food quality that brings customers. The waiters take salary from you and spoil your brand image. They are in fact liability to you, but the customers are business givers to you.
Mr. Ramasubbu, (the MD of the said restaurant), please look into this matter for the above incident being a matter of your brand image.
Regards, S.Tamilselvan
PS: I request all the readers of this review to take photo or video of all the waiters who chat during their duty time (not only in this restaurant, but everywhere) and post it in social media, so that common public will understand the quality of people employed in...
Read moreI tried yesterday with my family, ordered for Veg Clear soup,it had very bland and lack the punch of the flavours of the vegetable, then Phulkas with Mushroom masala and Palak Paneer, both the gravies lacked taste, aroma. Paneer was disintegrating which made us question the freshness of Paneer and Mushroom Masala was so thick and lacked the typical spicyness which we expect, we all just took one spoons each and struggled to eat and left it on the table as it is, wasn't even worthy enough to pack and take home. We ordered for Mushroom chilli which was reasonable we could finish but the honey gobi was warm at the bottom not even hot, but on the top it was chill, it seemed like this was precooked and oven heated, we felt horrible, the taste was bad too. Then the Mutter Pulav was so dry and rice wasn't well cooked my daughter left it on the plate... initially the guys served no water and after serving the soup we had to wait and remind waiters for spoon...after all this I spent time and shares my feedback with my waiter and told him to share the bill, he was smart enough not to bring the bill himself, he someone else so that he could bill for the entire food, may be he dint want to face me during the payment...he knew the food wasn't good, we didn't eat the food that was served, he couldn't take responsibility for the poor foods but still wanted to bill for the entire food so he sent another waiter to collect the money from me. I paid the bill but I felt likei made a donation to Balajee Bhavan, the management must empower waiters to take decisions on poor quality food and enable them to respect customers money, because we come all the way and pay for quality food. If the quality isn't good and if it's not worthy for consumption then customer will feel cheated. I certainly felt horrible to pay Rs.1500/- and ended up messing up my family lunch and the restaurant was responsible but there is no system in place to take responsibility. It's not the money but the attitude towards customers and do they value my money is what I look for.
This is just a feedback and I hope they work on this. For now I do not feel like going...
Read moreWe visited this restaurent for afternoon lunch! The experience was not good! We had special meals, wherein the food taste was not that great given the price is too high! Rice was cold! When asked for extra rice, they served in a small cup which is unusual . Other hotels always serve in the big pan which feels good and serving in a small cup for extra rice is not good way of serving! Given the price of that spl. Meals not worth it! And coming to their water glasses tiny ones! When we shared the left over rice, the server was too rude that we shouldn't share. And after that when asked for extra sambar they didn't even care to give the things Have seen far better brands serving with good way! My main disappointment was when they came with that 1 small cup of rice and in the name of unlimited rice!
NOT WORTH IT! NOT STEPPING THERE AGAIN. There are much better places around for Veg in...
