Madhuram has always held a special place in my list of go-to spots for comforting, regular South Indian food. Over the years, it's been a dependable choice—clean, consistent, and satisfying. But this time, something felt a little off.

While the quality of the ingredients and presentation remained consistent, the flavours were noticeably muted. The food was, frankly, bland—a surprising shift for a place that usually gets the balance just right. It didn’t have the same zing or depth of taste that I’ve come to love from Madhuram.

We also ordered rose milk, which unfortunately added to the disappointment. It was overly sweet and served warm—not exactly refreshing. After asking them to cool it down, it came back… different. Maybe they added ice or cold water, but whatever they did, it diluted the flavour and made it even less enjoyable.

For the price point, you'd expect food that not only fills your stomach but also tickles your taste buds—and this visit just didn’t deliver on that front.

Still love the place and hope it was just an off day. I’ll definitely give it another shot, but for now, it’s 3 stars from me—with fingers crossed for the comeback of that old...

Very good hotel on Thoothukkudi road from Thirunelveli.I agree fully with Sivasubramaniyan S sir views as I am too part of the touring party of 35 devotees. In order to avoid rush and waiting time and parking issues at Thirunelveli town we thought of taking lunch just at outskirts.But while just viewing the hotel from across the road coming from AzwarThirunagar road through Housing board colony road saw heavy crowd even at the cash counter for lunch tokens. Our team leader wanted to take a chance and vehicle parked opposite to the hotel and enquired the possibility of offering lunch for 35 persons without much delay. The people of the hotel ensured quick service and asked us to take tokens for required items meals/ variety rice / tiffin. In quick disposal of the crowd we finished our lunch satisfied very much by the speed , courtesy and taste. Kudos to the hotel management.
