I went there for taking breakfast while visiting Kanchipuram to have blessings of Sri Varadharaja Perumal & Perundevi Thayar . The Restaurant is very near to the Temple , just a 💯 meters away . It has a vast free parking lot .
It is a house 🏠 & consists of a lot of rooms , halls & pathways . Those rooms & hall are converted into dining facilities. On entering we were warmly welcomed by Lady waitresses. I didn't expect such a warm welcome . They also spoke high of the hotel 🏨.
I had the famous Kanchipuram Koil Iddly . I learnt that it will be cooked for more than 3 hours . It consisted of Black ⚫️ Pepper ,Cashews along with a lot of ingredients. I had shown it in a photo 📸 appended herewith . Though it was served very cold 🥶, it tasted good 👍 with coconut 🥥 Chutney & Milagai podi . The Rava Dosa was crispy .Coffee tasted good & was priced only Rs. 25 .
While I was taking Tiffin a man aged mid fifties entered the kitchen & tasted everything & I learnt he was one of the proprietors of the hotel & previously was working as a Manager under the famous Saravana Bhavan Annachi Rajagopal . I had a talk with him . He is polite & humble .
Serve meals . It appears that A/C service is there , as per the board exhibited by the hotel management.
Not wheel chair accessible & with...

Tons better than other mainstream hotels in Kanchi.
Freshly ground batter, organically obtained milk, hygienic oils and ghee.
We got to Udipi Sri Krishna for a very late lunch, after frantically searching for any, let alone good restaurants near the temple. The minute we stepped in, it felt like a reality shift. The hotel is situated in an modified traditional kanchi house with impeccable cleanliness and brave kitchens open to the public view. We arrived too late for conventional lunch, so had to settle for the all time available tiffin. We did not expect much, given that it was too late at 5:00 for any conventional meals, but the minute the food arrived, we gladly took back any doubts. We had ordered Onion Rava, Parrota Kuruma, Keera Vadai (freshly fried) and bondas (also freshly fried).
The food was served piping hot and was absolutely delicious, reminiscent of the glory days of Madras Saravana Bhavan.
The regulars' candor with the staff and their familiarity around the menus and the impromptus showed hospitality and...
Read moreDropped in for breakfast . Happy to have made it as a brunch early morning ! Grand old interiors . You can peep into their kitchens(clean) as you pass through to the extreme end of the building, to relieve yourself ! " Eat a Kanchi idly ( KI ) when in Kanchi " - the KI with mulaga podi was tasty . Their vada was piping hot -not much of oil and crisp . Sambar and chutney was also good. Tried their variety... Oops, we skipped lunch . Car parking is a big bonus .Though it's on the main road, we could park ( no , not valet) our car conveniently with the...
