Read moreMalnad or Malenadu is a region in the state of Karnataka in South India, which spans through the eastern and western slopes of the Western Ghats. This particular region receives very heavy rainfall, as evident from its name ‘Malenadu’ meaning ‘The Land of the Rain’ in Kannada. As much as the region is famous for its natural beauty and lush greenery, equally rich is the diversity of its cuisine, called ‘Malnad Cuisine’. The Malnad cuisine varies from region to region within the land of Malnad, making it all the more unique. Fascinating techniques have been handed down from generation to generation that showcases the culinary skills of the region’s inhabitants who chose these recipes to adapt to their environment. Inspired by the Malnad & Andhra cuisines, Malnadu Kitchen opens up its doors in the city of Hyderabad for the people to experience the flavors from the kitchens of their culture. Malnadu Kitchen is a fine dining restaurant located in Kompally area with well-decorated interiors & they aim at serving cuisines having local Andhra, Malnad or Telegu texture/flavour to it. They have a great amount of seating space with well-decorated walls having miniature plants thereby giving an inviting ambiance. Moreover, they have a seating space that is rightly equivalent to any movie set with a cute corner, nicely decorated lights in addition to the cozy seating space. Talking about the food that was served from Kara Kar Kodi, Golichina Mamsam, Pachi Mirchi Kotmina Kodi Vepudu, Kara Kara Prawn, Fish Tikka, Peshwari Paneer Tikka & Mutton Dalcha with Bagara Mamsam, all of these were really good however my personal favorite was Pachi Mirchi Kodi Vepudu & Peshwari Paneer Tikka both had the right balance of flavors all throughout and the quality of the paneer was really fresh. Few of them need minor tweaks to the flavours, however, rest of the spread was really good which was followed by Chicken Dum Biryani, Lassoni Dhaniya Kebab, Apollo Fish. Ending with desserts, we were given Gulab Jamun & Double ka Meetha, of which Double ka meetha sealed the deal for me as it tasted really nice. The service was really good & on-time for all the dishes that was served to us. Although there are multiple outlets in Hyderabad that have sprung up off-late serving authentic region influenced cuisines, I would say Malnadu Kitchen's cuisine offerings are totally apt for local residents of Hyderabad however they would need to do some minor improvements to stay ahead...
Read moreVisited this authentic Telangana and andhra restaurant last week, its located on the kompally high just a km away from the kompally signal and its located on the 1st floor.
Coming to the ambience, it looks very simple and decent with the highway way view and the indoor seating as well. They have a separate bar kinda counter for your mocktail cravings after having their spicy food, the counter looks attracting and good.
Starting with their hot and sour chicken soup which was moderate and getting to some Starters,
KARA KARA KODI : The chicken is so crunchy and good and actually it resembles its name.
BABY FRIED CHICKEN : I just loved this as the slices were thin and so crispy, I could eat as many.
ROYALLA VEPUDU : The prawns were very tiny and tasted really good.
CHILLY GARLIC FISH : This was lip smacking and we enjoyed it that much we ordered it again and again.
BLACK PEPPER CHICKEN : This I ordered from the menu when I asked the chef, please give the spiciest food in the menu. Believe me it was delightful and if you love spicy food a lot, never miss this from them.
Coming to veg starters,I didnt had much hope from them for the veg. But they were impressive and changed my mind.
HARA BHARA KABAB : Trust me one of the best one had till now and love to order this having the non veg items too.
PESHAWARI PANNER TIKKA : It was very soft and easy to mould.
VEG BULLETS are something that you can order here as they were tempting and tasty.
Main course
GONGURA MUTTON, DUM KA MURGH AND VEG NIZAMI
Three of them were good and served with the roti basket.
BONELESS CHICKEN BIRYANI : was not expecting much on the biryani, but surprisingly they were brilliant.
BHAGARA RICE WITH NATUKODI : Coming to the main dish, yes the taste was indeed same as the bhagara rice we make at home and dont miss this here as very few serve bhagara rice and that too with the combination of natukodi pulusu.
DESSERTS
FRIED ICE CREAM which was decent In taste, but can be improved for a better taste and suggest them to expand their desert menu as there are only few.
Overall, a nice authentic place to all those who have cravings towards their local telangana and andhra food. They are really making our experience more amazing and great with their delicious food.Service was also very quick and prompt.
Take small drive on your weekend and get amazed by their delicious servings.
