I have been frequenting Olive Garden since 2005 when they were in madhapur, then came to Gachibowli and now in narsingi. Similar ambience and menu. I used to like the food here. But this one is different. Sizzler items are missing. The staff needs to be a bit attentive. Coming to food, in hyderabad chk fry is slow cooked chicken in little or no water and chk roast is supposed to be deep fried chk. Ordered chk fry piece biriyani and chk was deep fried variety instead of slow cooked variety. It was kind of unexpected from a hyderabadi restaurant. Generous amount of chilli and black pepper in soup and starters to the point it became inedible. On pointing out they initially said that those dishes were supposed to be spicy. I am a chilli addict but this thing was competing with Rayalseema Ruchulu and totally inedible. On pointing out they moderated it in main course items which was good but the damage was done. They also provided a discount to make up for the disaster. They offered privilege membership. However I am not sure if my family would agree to dine at it again given the experience they had.
Edit after 2nd visit- Convinced my fomily for 2nd visit. It was a bigger disaster than the first. Both the veg and nonveg curries were high on salt. So much so that we couldn't finish a lot of food and didnot care to pack it back to take home. Kofta's gravy was thin and runny. Prices are on par with Theth masala, KodiKura Chitti gare etc but taste wise particularly for vegeterian fare lacks the finesse expected from a...
Read moreOlive Garden is a restaurant that presents a mixed dining experience. On one hand, they excel in serving dishes like Lachcha Paratha and Patiala Chicken, which are flavorful and satisfy the taste buds. The Lachcha Paratha is a standout, with its flaky, buttery layers that make it a perfect complement to the rich, spicy Patiala Chicken. The chicken dish itself is a delight, offering tender pieces cooked in a well-balanced, aromatic gravy that showcases the mastery of Indian cuisine.
However, the experience is not without its shortcomings. One notable issue is the quality of the Biryani. During my visit, the Biryani served was subpar, particularly because the chicken in the dish seemed old. There was a noticeable smell that indicated the food was not fresh, which is a serious concern when it comes to a dish as beloved and intricate as Biryani. The fragrant rice, which should have been infused with spices and herbs, failed to live up to expectations due to the poor quality of the meat.
The contrast between the well-prepared Indian bread and chicken curry versus the disappointing Biryani left a mixed impression. For anyone visiting Olive Garden, I would recommend sticking to the safer options like Patiala Chicken and Lachcha Paratha, and perhaps steering clear of the Biryani unless the restaurant improves its food quality and freshness. Overall, the restaurant has potential, but there are critical areas where they...
