🚨 WORST BAKERY EXPERIENCE EVER — DO NOT RISK YOUR SPECIAL DAYS WITH WANDERLUST BAKERY 🚨

I am writing this review with sheer frustration and disgust, and I hope this serves as a public service announcement to every family who values their special moments.

We ordered a pista cake from Wanderlust Bakery, Puppalguda, for our SON’S FIRST BIRTHDAY — a once-in-a-lifetime occasion — and what we got was a disaster wrapped in cream.

➡️ We placed the order TWO WEEKS IN ADVANCE, confirmed multiple times, and paid ₹4000 for a custom eggless pista cake (2.5 kg). ➡️ The staff (Faiz) assured us confidently: “Sir, we can make it specially for you.”

💣 THE NIGHTMARE: When we cut the cake — it didn’t just disappoint, it ruined the vibe of the celebration. It tasted NOTHING like pista. It was literally just dry, flavorless bread with cream slapped over it. If you closed your eyes, you wouldn’t even know it’s supposed to be a cake, let alone pista. It was a fraud dressed up in green.

🎭 THE BIGGER SCAM: THE OWNER'S ATTITUDE I confronted the owner — expecting accountability. Instead, I was treated to a masterclass in arrogance. His response?

“We didn’t ruin your son's birthday; we gave you a vanilla cake at least. It wasn’t stale.”

Excuse me? I paid for PISTA, got VANILLA, and according to this self-proclaimed “business owner,” my day wasn’t ruined because they at least gave me “some cake”. The cherry on this rotten cake? He actually instructed his staff in front of me:

“If you don’t have pista, just say no, don’t try to make it.” — almost boasting that we were guinea pigs for their failed experiment.

💀 SUMMARY:

Paid for pista, got sponge bread.

No apology, no accountability.

Owner was defensive, arrogant, and patronizing.

Zero empathy for ruining a once-in-a-lifetime occasion.

I wouldn’t trust them with a ₹100 pastry, forget a ₹4000 cake.

Wanderlust Bakery is a business gasping for air, run by people who don’t deserve to serve customers. It’s a crumbling tower of incompetence, masking itself as a “boutique bakery.” They don’t just serve bad cakes — they serve bad experiences.

I have been looking out for a cafe for a different experience. I had come across this property while making my search. Finally we reached to explore, we started with a Chicken chilli garlic fried rice and chicken lollipop, something that was pretty available everywhere . What surprised me was the effort put into in making it standout. Both dishes were delicious and well made. It did take some time but it was worth the wait. Our next move was the Tandoori pizza, acceptable waiting time and an amazing pizza that the children loved. Had a bite it was just the kind of dish that this outlet is known for. It was time for the fluids, I was informed that the Strawberry basil mohito was a unique one as it was a special recipe which was different from the usual mint mohito. We went for it and the difference was obvious and we were satisfied that we made this choice. The staff who was a previous bartender informed us that they were launching some mocktails. One of the mentioned one was , "guava chilli", something I knew very well. However, when I was served after a decent wait , my first sip and then the wow moment struck me. I would strongly recommend don't miss this, the chilli, tangy and the guava makes it a delightful combination along with cranberry juice and some additions which I couldn't figure out. The "crispy chicken burger" and the "chocolate mud crumble" was some that was well prepared, try them out. Thanks for the wonderful experience, will be surely back. This is one of the best cafe's I have been to. The food is really good and I would like to share an interesting story, I ordered Smoked Paneer Tikka Sandwich and Cafe Mocha from Zomato and I asked them not to put any sugar in the cafe mocha and make it cold and they politely accepted my request and made it and they called me back to say that sir we are sending it and the packaging will be tight with a lot of tapes to avoid spills, so you might need spend time in opening it, I said okay. When the order got delivered, there was no cafe mocha in the packet and I called them immediately thinking there might have been some mistake. They said please give us 2-3 minutes we will check and call you back. 2 minutes later they called and asked me to send my location on WhatsApp and they said sir we sent it but we have to investigate where did it went missing, and we do not want your experience to be bad, hence we are sending another one within couple of minutes and they delivered it within 10 minutes. I am so happy to say that cafe like these are rare nowadays, I pray and hope this cafe reach...
