Theevu Plage Beach Resort — Restaurant in Thandiriyan Kuppam

Okay let me begin from the beginning! We were suggested this resort by friends as they had a sea facing view from their room. We were excited about it too, hence, we booked a sea facing room one month prior to our visit. The contact person of the resort suggested that we pay him directly and not book through any website or app and so we did. After reaching the resort they tell us that there is no record of our booking! They said they made a mistake and now all rooms are booked since its diwali vacation and we should look for some other place. There were empty rooms but they obviously didn't give it to us even though we reached there early coz other bookings were done through makemytrip. The people there were extremely rude and wouldn't even look at us when we were trying to speak to them. The person 'incharge' said he will look for rooms in the nearby hotels but again since it is diwali vacation, all places were booked. We asked to speak to the manager who wasn't present there. We tried calling him several times during the whole ordeal but no response from his side. I have never seen such a careless manager in my life. Then we had to start looking for a place ourselves which we did and it was so much better than this sham of a resort. The host was very polite, went out of his way to help us and rooms were clean as well unlike this place which had huge garbage cans next to the kitchen where crows were feasting and huge flies circling around everywhere. We trust Goibibo for hotel booking always. But this time we lost the trust with Goibibo because of the issues we faced at our stay in Theevu Plage, Pondicherry . The hotel where we stayed not at all in standard for family accommodations. I booked the hotel by checking car parking availability rating in Goibibo website. When I arrived at hotel the staff mentioned there is no car parking and suggest me to park anywhere on the road side but hotel not responsible for parking space or car safety (every moment we were searching for a car parking for the three days at hotel after we reach or coming back from city centre). I have faced non-cooperation staff issues at hotel, there was no toilet towels in both the alloted rooms. One of the rooms has no TV connection. When we informed regarding non availability of bathroom towels to the staff, the helper in response told us "customer have to ask" else they will not provide without asking. I have opted breakfast included package to avoid time logs or to save my time for other activities at my stay in Pondicherry but the service for breakfast is very slow and the staff delayed my complimentary breakfast by serving other customers who reached canteen after our presence. Take a look at the photos all you want, but the quality is below sub-par. I did not stay here, to clarify, rather I took out food to my Airbnb. The food is average at best, but credit where it is due: the dal tadka is a fairly good attempt. The butter chicken however is too sweet (and tangy somehow); not recommendable. Prices in general for such a restaurant are horrible. A chocolate mousse costs ₹230. You would expect it to be at least a decent size, but it is served in a wine glass that is comical in size. Taste-wise, it's... Fine. Everything else on the menu is overpriced too. A scoop of a supposed Auroville "special" ice-cream costs ₹140. And once again, the ice-cream itself is nothing to write home about. The entrance of the restaurant is not grand, but the interior looks spacious, maybe due to a persistent lack of customers at dinner service. We ordered food for 2 nights. The first night, the food was okay, but on the second night, the entire staff changed! From the cook, to the waiter, to the cashier: all new (and worse). On the second night, they messed up our order once, took more than 45 minutes to make 2 dal tadkas and 2 plates of rice, and the chef was singing(?) and shouting.
