Bar Code — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

BarCode offers a wonderful restraunt as well as bar seating. The ambience of the bar is quite worthy, perhaps one of the best amongst bars in Prayagraj (Prayagraj has quite limited choices for decent bars where one can go with family or spouse, Chill Lounge, Glassy, Ilavart, Vilas to name a few). Drink menu is wide but availability is often limited with beer choices even limited and offering only either cans or pints. The experience with food menu is same: wide on paper, limited in availability. The staff is professional, quite polite and well behaved (except for the guards at the lift entry which may not be as polite but definitely not rude). Prices are upscale e.g. around Rs 400-500 for a can of beer worth Rs 150-250. But almost comparable are the prices of almost all above named bars in Prayagraj (perhaps because unless its high, one may witness all kinds of crowd here that shall be creating a ruckus quite often)except Ilavart which offers much reasonable prices with appreciable ambience. Still I believe for bars to flourish here prices must be downscaled to an extent comparable to other towns. Finall I would say BarCode offers a premium bar experience with pretty good ambience and surely one of best ones in town. So do give it a try once for sure!.

This place doesn't even deserve a single star. In my opinion and after the kindly of hospitality we received yesterday this is the worst dine- in. Bar one could go to, unless one wishes to ruin their mood. From the start the manager sikandar Sharma ji was on our head to place the order within 5 mins of our arrival. When we Called them to take the order half of the things were not available on that pamplet menu which they had for drinks as they doesn't have proper licence to serve alcohol in there restro-bar. On their constany bugging we had to settle for things which wasny even worth ordering. The manager came to us told us to order something worth atleast ₹200 or more which was very ignominus of in itself. Later the manger told us that the seat in which we are settled is already booked where as the entire bar was vacant. When we asked them for the bill they gave a receipt which was more than what we ordered. When we corrected them they told us it would take time to regenerate bill and started arguing to pay only for what we ordered without changing the bill. This kind of behaviour is unacceptable and i won't suggest anyone to...

Alot has changed post covid unfortunately not for the better. Their food used to be the highlight but the quality has deteriorated, the white sauce chicken pasta was really good but everything else was average at best. Chicken 65 was horrible. Their ambience is really good but it got ruined because of the ear piercing music played by a DJ who was actually asked to tone it down by the gentlemen sitting beside our table but it seemed that he owned the restaurant. We literally ran to their rooftop section to save our ears and sanity. The pricing of liquor especially cocktails need to be revised, LIIT for 700 is a bit too much. I am still perplexed about the billing system. Food that was ordered isn't there on the bill and yet it's included in the total price & what wasn't ordered has found it's place in the bill. I am still trying to sort it out with the owner, let's hope for the best. And yes, the best part about this place is the service.
