Mashi Biryani World — Restaurant in Uttar Pradesh

One of the scariest things, hosting non-native friends in Lucknow, is to find a decent Authentic Laknawi Biryani to treat them with. After scanning through almost 20 places, we finalised this place & WHAT A LET DOWN this was.

1. They didn't have AWADHI Mutton Biryani. I mean like, seriously? 🤦‍♀️🙄
2. The rice was tasty BUT the Mutton was UNDERCOOKED. Cooked mutton should smoothly come off the bones. Here I was, biting away to glory to get the meat off the bones, which it refused to let go of. 😣😣
3. THEY DIDN'T HAVE LEMON TO GO WITH SALAD. How can one imagine Biriyani without onion & lemon salad. 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️
4. Raita was extremely watery & it tasted stale.
5. DON'T expect complaints to be taken care of here. They don't have the expertise to. They straight away told a bunch of boys, who came after us & had been served already, that there are no more mutton pieces left, when they complained of too bony mutton pieces with no meat. 🤦‍♀️😣
6. Paying 500/- for such a Biryani, did pinch. Embarrassment was a different story anyhow.

All in all, I apologized to my friend for feeding him a failed Lucknawi biryani he so desired of. DEFINITELY NOT REFERRING THIS PLACE TO ANYONE. To think of it, I visited this place after 2 years of hearing...

I was really disappointed with my visit, especially because they don't offer Lucknow Biryani, which I was expecting. The ambiance was also a letdown—felt almost non-existent, and we had mosquitoes flying around while we were eating.

I ordered the Hyderabadi Biryani, but it didn’t come close to what I’ve had in Hyderabad. Having tried biryani in Hyderabad before, I can confidently say this was not even in the same league. However, I will give credit where it’s due—the service was good.

One thing to note: don’t rely solely on reviews. The restaurant offers a 10% discount for people who leave reviews on Maps, which may skew opinions.
