The Downtown Café is a rooftop café under a glass skylight and expansive glass windows. The formal seating has the looks of a fine dining restaurant, except for the plastic flowers and plants. The tables have tablecloths and serviettes, plates and cutlery. Service is swift and discreet. I took a table by the window, and ordered an americano, poha and a mango shake in quick order. The poha and americano were good, and so were the Pithoragarh views from the window. The mango shake wasn't so great, sans any hint of mango, and surprisingly had some chocolate or maybe caramel. The menu has a huge range of vegetarian and non-vegetarian dishes, expensive by Pithoragarh standards, but the somewhat plush property, and stewards in uniform make this a place for special occasions.
