Firstly If I was a Michelin star evaluator then this would be my pick in Dehradun.

A beautiful heritage bungalow replete with verandas, halls, terraces with a tiny amphitheater …… all surrounded by huge Mango trees offering a variety of sitting spaces where every visit would be a different experience.

Now the food ….. where every dish is served with passion and a smile on the face of the server. Probably he already knows what surprise you are in for.

To start with the drinks we had the most amazing Toddy…..a warm drink for the perfect weather.

We then ordered for a Chicken Dim-sum (ref picture) and it was a delight in every bite. This was followed by a Beetroot Pomegranate Kabab which again brought us to our knees wondering how it could be so good.

Obviously taking the challenge we ordered for a Mutton Rogan Josh and found it medium rare ….. we jumped on figuring out a flaw as we wanted ‘fully done’. But it took only 10 mins for another same dish to arrive to suit our palette. It’s a rare talent to find in many restaurants.

Best part was that the food was so satisfying that I wondered whether I would eat at all the next day. God bless those hands and those visionaries who have raised the standards of culinary enjoyment !

The place is undoubtedly wonderful with its huge seating space, both indoor and outdoor, offering a calm ambiance amidst nature. The food is quite expensive but nice, and the service was good. I’ve visited twice: the first visit was a beautiful experience, but the second visit had some issues.

The live music was good but too loud, making it hard to enjoy the evening. The main issue was the parking situation. Our car was stuck because other cars blocked it in the parking lot. We waited for more than half an hour, asking several restaurant staff to announce for one of the car to be moved so we could leave, but we received no response.

After numerous requests, a manager came and told me to go upstairs and ask the band performing live to make the announcement because it was difficult for them to ask every person. This was frustrating. I was already late and upset, and instead of assisting me, I was asked to handle it myself.

Fortunately, a few people nearby eventually helped us get our car out, and a young sweet lady staff who was at the main entrance apologized on behalf of everyone. While this incident was disappointing, I appreciate the assistance and hope the management addresses the parking issue and manager's behaviour to improve...
