PROS:
LOCATION & AMBIENCE: The restaurant is situated inside the grounds of Mangal Pandey Park in Barrackpore, right by the river (Hooghly River) which gives it a scenic value. The riverside view and sunset setting is highlight.
MENU VARIETY: It offers a mixed menu of North Indian and Chinese / fast‑food styles. You’ll find momos, fried chicken, Chinese starters, as well as Indian breads, curries.
REASONABLE PRICING: The typical cost per person ranges from INR 200‑400. For the setting, it seems fairly moderate.
GOOD FOR CASUAL OUTINGS: If your primary objective is a pleasant riverside dining experience rather than gourmet perfection, this is the right place for that kind of ambience.
FOOD QUALITY: Have had mixed fried rice with chilly chicken. The food seemed to be of good quality. The riverside view is adds to its charm.
CONS:
Used to get lot of health drinks and fruit juice here back in the beginning days of this restaurant maybe around 2 years ago or more. Right now they don't have it in their menu. Also they could serve tea/coffee which will definitely help some of the customers I believe.
OVERALL VERDICT:
Go if you are looking for a relaxed outing by the river, want to enjoy the setting (especially around sunset), and are okay with “pleasant” rather than “top‑tier” in terms of food.
Tip: Try to visit during off‑peak times to avoid waiting, check the specific dish portions & pricing before ordering, and perhaps focus more on the ambience than expecting...
Read moreI'm sharing my pathetic experience for the restaurant named Rasooi King, where I visited today (14/02/24) for lunch.
I had to buy tickets worth ₹50/head, as entry fee. Which looks like a business policy only, nothing's there to see by purchasing tickets.
Now coming to the main part, the FOOD QUALITY and QUANTITY was very DISGUSTING, UNHYGIENIC and POOR that cannot be delivered to the people exchange of higher rate of price.
As you guys can see in the pictures I ordered one CRISPY CHILLY BABY CORN (₹160/- plate + GST) and one CHICKEN BIRYANI COMBO (₹260/- plate + GST) for two person.
Firstly the CRISPY CHILLY BABY CORN was not crispy at all, it tasted like raw coated corn toasted with sause only. I'm very disappointed with the item, for which I had to pay ₹160 + GST.
Next the CHICKEN BIRYANI COMBO was standing on another level with its coldness and over aromatic texture. Quantity is not sufficient for one at least. The service provider FORGOT to provide the full combo pack at the time of serving. I had to call the BUSY service persons several time for that.
Finally the main thing is that this resturant ruined my whole day completely. By watching volgs and all I was very excited to experience the lunch beside river Ganga, but it's very AWFUL EXPERIENCE after paying ₹473/- + ₹50/- (for entry fee) what services we experienced by the restaurant.
After this experience I CAN'T SUGGEST ANY ONE TO VISIT...
