Flurys - Serampore — Restaurant in West Bengal

There was a distinct nip in the air on a pleasant evening in Serampur, and we were inching towards Valentine's week! Love was in the air. As it is often said, a great grub is a window to the soul. The romantic weather whetted our appetite big time. But instead of wholesome staple, we decided to have something light yet scrumptious! As we were walking along the bank of sacred Ganga, we set foot in the riverside outlet of flurys—one of the best cake shops in the city. The place is a quaint escape from the bustle of city life. The steward was extremely amiable. From the wide range of delicacies, our eyes set on the chocolate cupcake and red velvet pastries. The yum eats were perfectly accompanied by a strong cup of coffee which was served in a jiffy. The chocolate cake was replete with Italian dark chocolate. With every bite of it, the rich flavour of chocolate was bursting in our mouth. The red velvet pastry was soft yet crisp. It was moderately sweet. And that pleased my wife a lot. This outlet is perfect if you want to spend quality time with your nearest ones. The place is quiet and peaceful and very well maintained. If you consider the price, it may appear a touch pricey. The restaurant is situated at a prime location just opposite the Shrirampur Roy Ghat. There is a huge open air dining area which is nicely decorated with wooden table sets and a perfectly mowed lawn. I visited the restaurant on June 9, 2025 and ordered their famous item Rum Ball Pastry and Eggless Chocolate Pastry. Both items were delicious in taste and also their service was pretty good.

This place used to be good but recently there's been a huge rush specially on Sundays and it's really difficult for the single staff member to take care of this efficiently. Naturally, qualities degrade and waiting times become frustrating. In the coming days, specially during Christmas, this is liable to worsen even further due to the undermanned nature of the same. The management, if they care to listen, should really look into this urgently if they wish to keep up the standard...
