Alam Sambangan - The Secret Valley Club — Restaurant in Bali

This place is definitely one of those kind that only sells view instead of taste. They are probably the only decent resto around here, since ofc not many surround the waterfall. Very expensive as you can see from the bills. Service is great though. They are very friendly, but food came out slow. The place is not that clean. Old furniture many insects trap inside. Beautiful view of the hills though, Nasi goreng special (57k), portion big, but rice very soggy and the dish is cold. Chicken has more flour and tasteless, especially the satay hard to chew. Hot tea for 22K almost like standard at the 5 star resto. Kinda surprise to see the bills though.

Well this place is a decent one if you are just planning to enjoy the view and order overly price hot tea. But if you could hold on to your hunger and don't have stomach ache problem due to haven't eaten yet, better just go down and eat...

On our way to Aling Aling waterfall, our driver suggested stopping here for lunch. The ratings are very misleading. You can see remnants of a once-relaxing place, but now it’s run-down with almost nothing left on the menu. They brought us a ‘club sandwich’: two slices of white bread with lettuce, cucumber, and some mysterious kofta balls. The hygiene was alarming: toilets overflowing, no water or soap, in a state only seen in films of a dystopian future where humankind has almost been wiped out. Prices were outrageous for what you get. I ended up only eating a few fries and drinking a Sprite straight from the bottle. They only seemed to really address my male partner, probably assuming he was the only paying customer. Felt I need to contribute to the conversation because we read other reviews and decided to come anyway and I’m glad we did!! Very nice evening with my husband! Yudi served us with joy. We are vegan- I had a veggie pizza no cheese and it was great, my husband had the veg nasi goreng which compared well to all the other ones he’s had here in Bali. Delicious dessert toast!!! cute space, they put some nice music when we said it was our honeymoon… pool, sunbeds, swings, string lights and although it is night I know the view of the valley is unparalleled.
