Based on all the other positive reviews it’s possible I caught this restaurant on a bad day and would rate differently. However, I had a very disappointing experience dining at this restaurant. Please note I’ve been in Indonesia for 3+ months so I’m fully aware of the standard of service etc.
My wife and I came here for food at around 11 am. When we entered the restaurant there was one other couple and the rest of the restaurant was empty. The restaurant has the capacity to seat at least 30-40 people but based on my service I have no idea how they can even handle 10 people at a time. We ordered 3 dishes, a smoothie bowl, a salad, and a breakfast plate. In total we waited over an hour for all our dishes to be served. About 20 minutes after ordering the smoothie bowl was served, then it took another 20 minutes for the salad, and then another 20 minutes for the breakfast place. I’m totally cool with food coming out as it’s ready but a 40 minute wait between dishes is absurd and we ordered those dishes to be eaten together as one meal, not 3 separate meals as they were served.
The food itself was okay, nothing special, and considering the price is higher than anywhere else in Medewi it was disappointing. Highly recommend Nals, or bamboo beach bar in Medewi for local food...
Read moreI didn’t fall in love with this place and I rarely complain.
But I write this as an FYI for people who are food conscious:
•the HEALTHY green juice has ADDED SUGAR, even though in the menu it doesn’t say sugar. Staff said ‘yes, a little but of sugar’.
Anyway, they made me a new one without
•we were advised to look at the menu photos for the food options, so I selected Avo and eggs toast. The bread was not brown sourdough as shown on the photo but plain white bread.
Also, the avocado was sweetened 🫨 so, from the whole portion I managed to eat the 2 poached eggs, which were not runny btw
•Staff never came back to check if all good with the food
My boyfriend had the pancakes which looked great but don’t assume they are healthy. They had ice-cream but that’s shown in the menu.
It’s possible that the other dishes are good, I just chose...
Read moreI was searching for a vegan meal, and the photos online of Gado-Gado looked ok, so I gave it a try. Sadly, I just didn’t love it. The raw veggies were cut so big, and no knife was provided. The tofu and tempeh were so minimal that it seemed imbalanced, a tease. And as I excluded the egg and chicken I asked for more tofu/tempeh/veg but it didn’t seem like any more came, so maybe there was more veg(?) I appreciated the big dose of fresh components, but it just didn’t seem nicely done or particularly enjoyable. The music playing had frequent, loud commercials. The view, while ok, wasn’t exactly picturesque, as there is a construction site next door. Speaking of next door, Rasta Cafe just up the alley has much better vegan options (and their Gado-Gado is delicious!) so I’d recommend them for...
