Rasta Cafe — Restaurant in Bali

I don’t want to pump this review up too much but… Dinner last night at Rasta Cafe was legitimately one of, if not the current most, all round amazing dining experiences, ever. It’s up there with places like Katz Orange in Berlin for me yet it falls deeply into the budget, simple and local category. An all round win.

The food, almost entirely local and FRESH, was genuinely surprising in flavour, texture and ability to satiate our post-surf hunger. Swordfish tacos from local, small boat line fishers. The vege curry also on point.

The service from entry to exit was truly gorgeous. The whole family who own and run the joint aren’t just putting in 110% to bring a good vibe they are just lovely, proud and charismatic people. We stayed back chatting until we were sure we were keeping them awake!

Pick up a recipe book if you go, great Indonesian classics and some house specialities too, epic souvenir for our trip to beautiful Medewi.

We spent a few times for dinner at Rasta. Absolut fresh and tasty food and a overwhelming warmly athmosphere. Felt like home there. He has also very heartful family. We played games there, enjoyed the food from his wife with fresh fruits and just chilled up ☺️ One of my daughter had her 5th birthday and they recognized it and organized therefore a cake from the village and a present. What a surprise when they start to sing for her and came around the corner with the cake and candles on it. Stayed in Medewi for almost 2 month and went to Rasta Cafe almost everyday! I didn’t have a bike so I had to ask a ride every time and sometimes I was more excited to come to Rasta than to surf😅 Dewi is so so nice and her son Iki and ofcourse ..Rasta! They made me feel at home and it was more than a “cafe” for me. They took me home when I didn’t have a ride to come back even when they were busy.

The food is amazing ! I loved the fish banana leaves, the vegan dumplings and the green dessert that I never remembered the name😍
