I would like to share my impressions of visiting this café, and I'm writing this review with rather mixed feelings..
I discovered this place a few weeks ago, and it turned out to be a new and enjoyable find. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the dishes and felt like I was in one of those cozy French cafes. I especially loved the potato salad, which was clearly seasoned with homemade French mayonnaise (perhaps not entirely "homemade," but it definitely wasn't regular mayonnaise). The taste of this dish was delightful, thanks to the successful combination of the sauce, potatoes, capers, and pickles.
I became a regular visitor to this place, but recently I have encountered several unacceptable situations. For example, one time I was served orange juice... that had more water than juice in it. When I pointed it out to the staff, they promptly corrected the situation, and the juice suddenly became genuinely orange. Nevertheless, this incident left me somewhat puzzled.
But my latest visit today made me contemplate and write this review. The potato salad I ordered was far from what I had tried on my first and subsequent visits. It was simply drowned in a sweet and unpleasant mayonnaise that was clearly store-bought and not homemade, and the salad lacked capers and cucumbers. I called the "chef", who agreed that the mayonnaise was incorrect and offered to remake the salad (by the way, only after I clarified that I had tried this salad multiple times and knew its true taste). I agreed to the suggestion, but the new portion of the salad turned out to be exactly the same as the previous one — with the same distasteful mayonnaise and without capers and cucumbers.
What you see in the attached photo was returned to the kitchen almost completely uneaten. I simply couldn't eat it. And unfortunately, I had to pay 58,000 rupees for this dish. If someone says that I am being too critical, one of the photos shows a salad prepared for sale that includes both cucumbers and capers. The sauce is served in a separate container, and it even looks different from the sauce in my salad. Additionally, I can't understand how they could forget to add pickles and capers to the salad even a SECOND time too. The "chef" claimed to have been working here for a long time, but... it's hard for me to believe that.
I have numerous questions for the management of this venue. If you cannot ensure consistency in taste, if your staff cannot adequately respond to complaints, and if your kitchen cannot prepare a dish correctly even on the second attempt, substituting expensive and high-quality ingredients with cheap alternatives and forgetting half of the components, it causes, to put it mildly, dissatisfaction and I don't think guests will be coming...
Read moreI've been a bit of a regular, coming once every 2 weeks maybe. The first time, I ordered an egg sandwich. It was heated which surprised me but either way, the bread wasn't fresh. I advised the reason for this is because the sandwiches are left open in the cooling refrigerator. It's common knowledge if breads are left open in the fridge, the bread will dry out. Another one was made for me but unfortunately, it was the same case so I don't know what happened.
The second time I came, something else happened but honestly I can't remember but as I walked in today, I was thinking, I wonder what issues will happen today? Honestly.
And today, I waited 10 minutes to be served while 2 others coming after me was walking to the counter & getting served. There were only 3 staff. The chef inside, the coffee maker & the girl at cashier. I was seen yet not served until I actually had to bring to their attention I hadn't been served yet. There was only a group of 3 sitting outside.
I ordered a quiche & asked for that to be heated. A Danish & a vanilla tart (no breakfast yet!). I told them only the quiche is to be heated & not the Danish roll. I never received the Danish roll. Obviously a misunderstanding but just something else reflecting customer service.
Also the tables & bench chairs where I sat are always dirty.
Your bakery has winning potential to be successful with plenty of repeat business. The concept is wonderful, location the best. But your customer service will create problems as you can clearly see now with some of the reviews coming through.
Hope you...
Read moreI recently visited my favorite café, a place known for its delicious food, great coffee, and friendly staff. However, the atmosphere was utterly transformed by a group of... let’s call them “creative space enthusiasts.”
Four individuals managed to occupy 13 seats—an impressive logistical feat! One table showcased their rain-soaked coats, another housed their personal hydration station (bottled water, brought from home, of course), while two more tables supported laptops and their lively conversation. And let’s not forget the pièce de résistance: their dirty shoes proudly resting on the neighboring chairs.
Naturally, my question is: why would I want to sit on those chairs afterward? Or better yet, why must other patrons work around this masterclass in territorial expansion?
The staff seemed to take the “live and let live” approach, perhaps out of politeness—or fear. Meanwhile, management, wherever they might be, must surely admire this bold reinterpretation of the concept of shared spaces.
Here’s hoping that next time, the café remembers that their real charm lies in being a haven for all guests, not just the self-proclaimed...
