I moved to Ubud 2 months ago. I’ve have visited Cretya Sunset 5 times now, the first 4 times were perfect, so wonderful, the staff were always friendly, they even remembered me each time, I was treated so well. The drinks were perfect and the bar/venue manager was such an awesome guy. Especially at night I found it to be a great atmosphere and vibe.
Unfortunately my visit today 30/08 (my fifth visit) was horrible. Firstly there was no staff at the reception. When I went to level 3, the staff seemed disorganised, with only 4 other guest at the venue. I was seated and then a few minutes later asked my name. I ordere. The drink I ordered was completely wrong. I didn’t say anything though, the food came and it was good. I went to pay - mind you the food and beverage prices are sky high for Bali but I don’t mind at all as I like to use the jacuzzi every visit.
I then asked if I could use the jacuzzi (something I had done the previous 4 visits) I was told yes (@9:30pm), and clearly told it closes at 10pm. I got changed and went in the jacuzzi. It’s really nice at night and a great way to unwind. I went to the last jacuzzi to be by myself. I never been bothered before in my last 4 visits.
After being in the jacuzzi for only a moment, a staff approached from behind and startled me, they mentioned that the jacuzzi closed at 10pm, then they start telling me about the cleaning schedule for the jacuzzi among other things, mind you I’m trying to unwind and relax in the jacuzzi after a long day. They then keep repeating about the cleaning schedule and continue talking to me. The staff really shouldn’t be working in hospitality when they can’t read a customer vibe. Then 3-4 minutes later another staff come - looked like a manager, and tells me actually the other staff was wrong and it closes at 9:30pm the jacuzzi and I need to leave the jacuzzi soon.
I found the whole experience so horrible. I have come to Cretya sunset before and staff always treat me so well and allowed me to stay in jacuzzi until 10pm along with other guests. So I know the manager this evening is trying to go home early or something like that.
My experience tonight - no reception staff, I get the wrong drink (paying approx $9AUD for a non alcoholic drink), staff laugh among themselves. Staff collectively stare at customers. It’s not a pleasant feeling.
Then particular staff ruin my night hike I’m trying to unwind and relax listening to the music trying to enjoy the evening.
Comes across as unprofessional, disorganised and frankly not hospitable at all. Especially when there’s only 5 customers in the entire venue (including myself) and probably 10 staff, you’d think they would be able to deliver excellent service.
I’m unsure who these staff are, as the regular staff who have treated me well before were not there tonight. I don’t think I’ll be returning, which is really unfortunate as I had planned to come regularly while I live...
Read moreOwners need to rethink the strategy of this business… we had a very disappointing experience here which was a shame as last time we visited here we enjoyed ourself so much we decided to come back again… we booked two weeks ago and was provided with a menu for food and drinks, this reflected what we paid for last time which was very reasonable in comparison to the environment and club vibes however upon arrival today we were given a completely new menu with very ridiculously increased prices… when this was questioned we were told that this is a new menu with reflection of the new restaurant opening on site… however the new restaurant isn’t opening until 20th of June but the owners are being greedy and charging customers high quality prices for products they can’t even deliver… a bottle of sparkling wine has increased from 800K IDR to now 1.2Million IDR in a space of 2 weeks… we ordered strawberry daiquiris (last time they came frozen) when they came we questioned why they aren’t frozen to be told they aren’t prepared to offer frozen due to the opening and preparations of the new restaurant… fair enough and even though they have now increased to 180K each for a small cocktail we went along with it. We then attempted to order 2 different, but very common cocktails (S** on the beach and Singapore Sling) just to be told that either they can’t be made or the ingredients will be changed… now the new menu states the bar will make any cocktail just pick the spirit and clearly you can’t offer this service of the new menu so we were expected to pick from the old menu but pay stupid high prices… when asked if we can order from the menu we were originally shown we were told now and only discount was offered of 10% on food and non alcoholic beverages… other guests have ordered a latte, specifically asking for it to be extra hot and then that was delivered cold… to add to it at 16:00 in such scenic and natural environment the DJ decided to play ridiculous loud music so that we couldn’t even have a conversation (even after moving to a single bed and to the opposite end of the pool… we tried to make the evening work however we just couldn’t justify paying so much money for a service they could not even offer to us, even the staff were embarrassed… after we informed the staff off all the issues, the staff even agreed that the menu is not suitable, we explained we were not satisfied at all and can’t find justification for the prices we got slapped with a bill of over 500K IDR for two cocktails and towel rental… the whole visit was a joke and clearly the ownerships greed has got very big with the opening of a new restaurant… such a shame as this was our...
