The food was okay. Another tourist stop, nothing special. They have a strawberry farm where you picked your own. We had our late lunch and asked if we can visit the farm at the cashier. They directed us to go to the back of the restaurants. The reason we went there because the kids wanted to pick their own strawberries. The lady worker kept on plucking some strawberries that’s not nice to put in our baskets. I politely said no but she kept on doing it. They are selling by half lbs or one lbs. when we were done, the strawberries aren’t enough weigh and she wanted me to pay for the full price. I argued with her saying that we need more strawberries. While waiting for the kids, she complaint about working from 8a-4p the restaurants didn’t allow her to eat and she’s very hungry and it’s her time off work when we were there. I told her, the front desk should have tell us that it is closed and not sending us back here. She then asked me to pay her 10k to buy food and don’t tell the restaurant about it. That was a very unpleasant feeling. It feels like you were being rushed and pushed to get the produce and was being asked to pay for her food. I don’t know if it is the norm in bedugul but I wouldn’t go...

The food is fantastic, with a variety of options that cater to different tastes. They even have vegan choices and oat milk available, which is a thoughtful touch. It’s not always easy to find such considerate options, and it really added to the dining experience.
Special thanks to the staff, Made and Eka, who were attentive and made us feel welcome. Their service really enhanced our visit.

In my opinion, this is among the best eating place in Bedugul. Sitting at the third floor, the view is the lake, garden and the temple complex, and the villages by the lake. Food menu is extensive, obviously De Danau try to cater the needs of global tourists. Tried mushroom saute, fried Indonesian samosa and water spinach saute (kangkung), which are quite good. De Danau has a small hotel but I couldn’t see it from the resto. And an indoor "pick your own" strawberry farm, must be interesting for curious kids, and the strawberry is very cheap. The waitress enthusiastically offered strawberry juice as it is fresh from the farm.
Looking at the scenery, I must agree that pine trees and the lake are perfect...
