My Cocotte Bistrot — Restaurant in Bali

came here this afternoon and i had a pleasant experience here. we ordered burger, potato wedges (yeah i love fries, although there's potato wedges as side dish from the burger, i still order another one. don't judge please! LOL!), 2 sweet crepes - guava and passion fruit, hot cappuccino and hot chocolate. first of all, i'm a big fan of fries, since they don't have it here, i ordered potato wedges which i rarely like. but this one is one of the best potato wedges. it's soft inside but you still can feel the crisp on the outside. the seasoning is nice too, not overpowered. the crepes is nice, but the jam inside is too sweet for my liking. if you like sweet, this one's for you. the cappuccino and hot chocolate are nice too, nothing amazing, but i'm not mad at all! but the burger, i have to say, this one is the winner today! i really like to bun and cheese slices on top and bottom bun. also, the juicy-ness of the patty is just right. the caramalized onion is just right too, not too caramel-ly but not too raw. everything is just on the right amount! anyway, their price point is nice too, considering they're in Umalas and the place is so easy to reach. overall, i have a really nice visit today and definitely gonna come...

Been meaning to try this place for a while as I drive by it quite often when I'm heading to Denpasar, seminyak. We came today and found they have a wonderful lunch special 100k for appetizer and main dish. Tried the pate, duck rillette (extra 20k) and tomato and basil. All were delicious so we anxiously anticipated the main course. We ordered the steak(extra 20k), shepherds pie and the chicken with pasta. The steak was very well cooked and surprise good for the price. My chicken was also very good, nicely seasoned and the pasta was well cooked. The shepherds pie was OK, not great, but one of it six is pretty good.

The service was very good, though we were the only customer at the time. I liked the decor. They have a table with a very nice chess set and another with backgammon. Everything else was very nicely done and felt homey

I will definitely come back as I want to try...

Pate De Champagne (delicious!!) Escargot (scrumptious and beautifully cooked) - we soaked up all the remaining sauce with our crispy bread it was THAT good! Bone marrow (I love a bone marrow but found theirs to be far too oily and fatty) Quenelles Sauce Nantua (the poached Barramundi was so tender, juicy and just cooked to perfection) Knife Cut Tartare (so beautifully flavoured and unbelievably refreshing) Creme Brulee (so creamy and delicious)

Overall, a fantastic experience with lovely wine (I had the house white Sauvignon Blanc) and mouth-watering food at very fair prices.
