O'zarome — Restaurant in Bali

I was very surprised to have this place right in front of our own accomodation. The standards of this establishment are higher than average for sure. It's clearly catered to Europeans as targeted customer group which you can tell by the menu, good english and missing bidet at the bathroom. That doesn't mean there isn't authentic and very well prepared Balinese food as well though. There is also a regularly changing menu for the day. The service was top notch, our waiter Gusti was very friendly and attentions.

We ate here 3 times in total, every time the food was prepared very well. I think I always took the crepes, because they were actually crepes and not pancakes. 😉 It's also very quiet, because it's far off the main street.

Ich bin zwar keine Hotelgästin, aber ich komme regelmäßig zum Yoga zu meiner wunderbaren Lehrerin Devi – und jedes Mal zieht es mich voller Freude ins Restaurant O Apostol Zarome. I’m not a hotel guest, but I come regularly for yoga with my wonderful teacher Devi – and every time, I’m drawn with joy to the restaurant O Apostol Zarome.

Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich etwas ganz Besonderes. This restaurant is truly something special.

Jeder einzelne Mitarbeiter hier ist unglaublich freundlich und herzlich – vor allem Su, die mit ihrer liebevollen Art mein Herz berührt hat. Every single staff member here is incredibly kind and warm – especially Su, who touched my heart with her sweet and caring nature.

Der Koch hat goldene Hände – das Essen ist einfach unbeschreiblich gut. The chef has golden hands – the food is simply indescribably good.

Nicht nur der Geschmack ist außergewöhnlich, auch die Art, wie es angerichtet wird, zeigt: Not only is the taste extraordinary, but also the way each plate is presented shows:

Das gesamte Hotel strahlt wunderbare, positive Energie aus. The whole hotel radiates wonderful, positive energy.

Alles ist liebevoll organisiert – auch an der Rezeption wird man mit einem Lächeln empfangen und aufmerksam unterstützt. Everything is organized with care – even at the reception, you’re welcomed with a smile and helpful attention.

Für mich ist das Restaurant O Apostol Zarome inzwischen zu meinem Lieblingsort geworden – ein Platz zum Genießen, zum Wohlfühlen und zum Zurückkommen. For me, O Apostol Zarome has become my favorite place – a spot to enjoy, feel good, and keep coming back to.

Je ne veux pas être plus sévère même si c'était plus que décevant. Je voulais essayer car je n'habite pas loin, j'aurais dû écouter ma copine qui ne le sentait pas... On arrive, on commande à boire, ok. On commande un plateau de charcuterie, ah il n'y en a pas. Donc je demande qu'est-ce que vous n'avez pas afin de ne pas choisir ce qu'il ne faut pas. On oublie les viandes de boeuf (japon ou australie, c'est un mystère..) et le poulet, la carte vient de perdre de l'intérêt. On se rabat sur un croque monsieur, qui était bien, avec du pain de campagne (bonne idée de le noter sur le menu). Je commande un poisson Dori..., ah il n'y a pas non plus ! Franchement, je suis resté mais je ne sais pas pourquoi. Puis des oeufs bénédictes : oeuf trop cuit, pain de campagne au pesto (encore, au lieu du traditionnel muffin. pourquoi pas mais le dire sur le menu ?..). Et également un tartare de saumon : vraiment pas top et avec du concombre dessus et même un tapissé dessous, bien sûr pas précisé sur le menu. J'aurais dire que j'y étais allergique mais j'avoue avoir zappé à force de perdre des options qui nous sont annoncées au fil de l'eau, et parce que ce plat était détaillé à la carte, je ne me suis pas douté que... On n'est pas resté 1h, en 2 ans à Bali, j'ai rarement été déçu comme ça. Par le décalage entre le menu, les photos, les commentaires, puis finalement la qualité et non-choix. Même à 5 min, je n'y retournerai pas. Mais c'est ma faute, je pensais aller à un resto, c'est plus pour les gens qui y sont en vacances...
