We went there last Friday for lunch as a group. Unfortunately a bad experience. It looks very appealing on their socials (and we had so much looked forward to visiting it!) but this place is not made for having customers. Seems as if it is attached to a hotel or something and this restaurant is just an add-on service for that place rather than a stand-alone, well-run restaurant. Very nice staff. However, even though we were the ONLY table (except for just one person having coffee), the food took over 1 hour (!) to be served and with the supposedly hot dishes arriving cold/lukewarm. Seemed as if the kitchen had left hot food sitting while preparing other dishes and it had therefore gone cold… or they had simply not bothered to heat it up properly (some of the main dishes we had seemed pre-made, so it should have been a very simply order to prepare). Our order was just two simple salads and four main dishes. The explanation given was that they only had 1 person in the kitchen. That is however a poor excuse because (a) you’d think for a place that is open for lunch, they would staff & train the kitchen accordingly, (b) again, some of the mains, like coq au vin and cordon bleu, seemed pre-made and therefore should have been easy, and (c) for just one table, given our relatively straightforward order, even one proper cook should be able to prepare in much shorter time (having been a chef in the industry, I speak from experience).
As a cherry on top, the last dish, which arrived almost 1hr and 20mins after the order, had a grey hair in it which was quite similar to the hair of the grey dog that was roaming around on the grounds (note: none of us is grey-haired).
The food has potential and the waiters were very kind and accommodating. Our bad experience boils down to how management has staffed the kitchen and...
Read moreExtremely negative experience. Came here for lunch on 07.10, there were five tables occupied. We waited for the juice 25 minutes, the food - an hour (!), the child was exhausted. No one warned about such a long wait, no one took empty bottles and glasses from the table in an hour. Finally, they brought the pasta that was terribly overcooked, I haven’t seen this for many years, the kitchen which didn’t even know how to cook pasta properly. We should send it back to the kitchen, didn't do that only because the child wanted to eat. The mussels I didn't like as well. Previous reviews of the institution are clearly outdated and do not correspond to the...
Read moreWhile the food is not bad at all, what shines about this place is the service. It's impeccable and close to what you'd expect in the west. Coffee was very good and the menu selection fair. It's mainly French but with some international options thrown in. We had 3 courses between us and they were alright. On the upmarket side and with an additional 21% tax+service surcharge on top of the published prices it becomes a spenny option for the area so it won't become my regular for meals, but the ambience and peaceful vibe makes it a great spot for a coffee while...
