Terrasse du Lac Tamblingan — Restaurant in Bali

This is a long due review which we wanted to write. We visited bali for our 1st anniversary in 2016 and stopped by this restaurant. It was raining and this was the perfect place for lunch with the view. The food served was delicious and was adjusted to our preference too. When we mentioned to the host that it was our anniversary vacation, they prepared us a surprise cake and wished us. It was really sweet of them to give us this surprise and this was one of the highlight of our trip. Every time we think of Bali, we remember the amazing staff and their hospitality. We missed writing our review then, but now when we were going through our trip pictures we spotted the location and wanted to give a shout out.

Not sure if it is because of the hotel part or restaurant part that it has such a high rating.

The food is mainly non-indonesian, with dishes like fish and chips and Tex Mex wraps.

It caters only to tourists which can be seen both in the size of the dishes and the prices which goes between 70-100k for a main dish.

I bought a chicken satay for 79k you get 4 small sticks with 3 square pieces of chicken on it and then you can get a small bowl of rice. Soda costs 30k which is about 2 euros which is the same as you pay in Europe.

Food was quite bland especially considering the price point.

If you want Indonesian food then this is probably not the place for you, if you miss the fish and chips back in England then...

Almost feels like it needs 2 reviews. Restaurant : Great place, the food is really good and the service was perfect. The view on the lac can be a plus but the street that runs by the restaurant can make it noisy depending on traffic. Hotel : We felt like the hotel was short of our expectations. We were cold in the room and there was no heating. The linens were clean but not really white we could see some stains. Finally the towel were not changed after our first night and due to local humidity they stayed wet for our second day. I would say it is ok for a one night stop. I have to say we travelled with an agency so I do not know how much a night costs. I would probably recommend it for a cheap...
