We stayed here in the last two weeks of september. There are a lot of positive things to say about this hotel, but also some little negative remarks (but which place will ever be a 100 procent to everyones liking, right?)||First of all: the view of this hotel is breathtakingly beautiful. I don’t think you can find a better hotel in Bali if you want a hotel with a nice view. But be aware that you are not at sea level anymore and somewhat up in the mountains and the Clouds, so the view is overtaken by clouds during the day. Best views and weather are in the early morning till around 9.30. Then the mist starts coming in. We had rain almost every day in Munduk. And the temperature is about 5 degrees lower than by the Coast, so bring some sweaters, long skirts/trousers and a rain jacket. ||Second of all this hotel has a very sweet and the most polite staf you can ask for. They are all just lovely. They Will do anything to make your stay as positive as possible. The manager goes out of his way to help you in everyway that he can. Big thumbs up for this. ||Third of all: the rooms/villa’s are really comfortabel and big. The bed is a big kingsize (so you will have to struggle to find your husband/wife on the other side:-)), The bathroom is very spacy, and there are a lot of facilities like a hairdryer, coffee machine, water boiler, mini bar, bathrobes and slippers, … |We did had a problem with our mini fridge the first evening (wasn’t cooling) but they immediately replaced it with another one. There are some chairs and a table on the terrace so you can enjoy your morning coffee outside of your room. Mind to say that we had a basic villa, so if you want to splurge and go even bigger get one with a jacuzzi or a private pool. |There is however a problem that there is a gap around the entrance door so bugs can get in. They fix this by performing an evening ritual to cleanse your room (with an insect repellent smell) and they provide anti repellent sprays and an electrical anti mosquito device. We didn’t have a problem with mosquitos because of all this. ||Everyday you have the chance to do an afternoon tea/coffee ceremony with a nice cup of your choice and some additional food (little snack bites). We really enjoyed this little extra they do for their guests. ||There is a gym at this hotel, and as a fitness freak for me personally this is very important. |The gym was not very much to my liking. Yes, there are 5 cardio machines (two bicycles, a step, two running machines) and the view from the gym is also amazing, but there are not real gym machines, only halters that don’t go over 10 kg. Also, there are a tons of mosquitos here and overall the towels and yoga mats are not very clean. ||The Spa is something i cant write a review about because we didn’t go there because of the very high prices. For comparison: for an hour traditional Balinese massage you pay 1.2 milion IDR. When you go outside the hotel (we went to selvi spa which is 20 minutes by scooter away) you pay 150.000 iDR. So the prices are just ridiculous. You get a 15 minute Free massage with your Booking, i cant say these 15 minutes were a lot better then any other spa outside of the hotel. And my husband and I just love the massages Here in Bali, I think we were on the massage table for 3 hours a day when we were in Kuta beach. of course if you don’t want to drive for a massage, you don’t have a lot of other choice than to go inside the hotel. ||The restaurant and food were not very much to our liking so this is one of the main reasons (plus the weather) that i don’t think we would come back. Positive things to say about the food and restaurant are the very friendly and obedient/good etiquette staff, the nice cocktails and the very broad choiced breakfast (i don’t think there is anything you cant ask on request, so you will not be hungry when you leave the table even if it is a la carte). Negative comments, for us, were the lack of taste of the food (very bland, not spiced enough, no umami as you say), and the very high prices of everything when you go there for dinner.||Overall i give this hotel a very high score because they are definately worth it. If you are not as Picky eaters as us, and you don’t mind the higher prices for massages and don’t mind the smaller gym, i would 100 procent recommend this hotel. Munduk is a very beautiful place to visit temples, Waterfalls and...

Read moreMy five-night stay at Elevate Bali in Muduk was nothing short of perfect. I mostly spent my time relaxing in the resort and a cozy villa.
(1) Reception, Staff, and Service: The reception staff at Elevate Bali was top-notch. They were incredibly friendly, attentive, and went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. I had a stomachache during my stay, but the staff promptly provided me with emergency medication and even offered herbal tea and breakfast delivery. Randy and Adie, in particular, were exceptionally kind and attentive to our dining and room service needs.
(2) Food: I was initially surprised to learn that there wasn’t a buffet-style breakfast at Elevate Bali. However, they more than made up for it with their diverse menu, which included Indonesian, Muduk specialties, Italian, English, French, Japanese, Korean (비빔밥!), and even Mexican cuisine. They were able to prepare almost anything I requested, including vegetables that weren’t on the menu. The vegetables were not only delicious but also exotic, especially the rice porridge. It’s a must-try if you have the opportunity to stay for a while. Since there aren’t many restaurants nearby due to the distance, I used the room service several times, and the food quality was consistently excellent. My son couldn’t get enough of their Aglio e olio dish and had it four times in a row.
(3) Tourist Driver: Elevate Bali provides its own driver for tourism and taxi services. When you book a tour schedule at the front desk, you’ll be assigned a driver. Mr. Dodge (or was it Dodge?) was the driver who took us on our tours. He was incredibly gentle, polite, and knowledgeable about all the places we visited. His driving was smooth and efficient, and he had a pleasant and courteous manner of speaking. We had a great time with him and felt very safe and comfortable in his care.
(4) Villa: The villas at Elevate Bali are spacious, comfortable, and well-appointed. They offer a range of amenities, including private pools, plunge pools, and fully equipped kitchens. The villas are located in a peaceful and serene setting, surrounded by lush greenery and the scene of the coastline. I highly recommend Elevate Bali for a luxurious and memorable stay in Munduk. Nestled amidst the mountains and coastline, this cabin offers a breathtaking view of the sunset. With its two floors and cabin-style design, it provides a cozy and comfortable retreat. The private pool and jacuzzi add to the relaxation and rejuvenation experience. One of the unique features of this cabin is its elevation above 1,100 meters. This allows guests to feel the gentle breeze and the ever-changing clouds and winds passing by. The sight is simply amazing and an unforgettable experience. The only minor inconvenience I encountered during my stay was the presence of bugs. Munduk ants, in particular, seemed to be attracted to the plugs & cables and my backpack. While they weren’t aggressive and didn’t bite me, they did cause a bit of a nuisance. If you’re concerned about bugs, I recommend contacting the front desk for assistance.
Overall, I had a wonderful time at this cabin and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking a peaceful and enjoyable getaway. My teenage son thoroughly enjoyed his stay and expressed his desire to return soon. However, I would suggest that this cabin may not be the best choice for families with infants or toddlers. The high altitude, the presence of bugs, and the infinity pool might pose some challenges for...
