The Octagon Ocean Club — Restaurant in Bali

We spent a lovely afternoon at the Octagon Ocean Club and really enjoyed it! The infinity pool is definitely the highlight — calm, beautifully designed, and overlooking the ocean. The whole atmosphere is super relaxed, and the staff were all very friendly and welcoming.

Important to note: the Octagon is not part of the Menjangan ressort, so if you’re staying there like we were, you won’t be able to charge anything to your room — you’ll need to settle directly. We didn’t try the restaurant inside, so I can’t comment on the food, but the space itself is quite stylish, with a sandy floor that gives it a beachy, laid-back feel.

A really fun bonus, especially if you’re with kids: we saw wild deer casually roaming around and munching on the plants nearby. Totally unexpected and made the afternoon even more special.

Boy is such a talented amazing genius in cooking you shouldn’t miss him whenever you’re in the area even if not staying on the Plataran hotel. The menue provides a wide variety from international to local menues, but also ask Boy for individual recommendations. Also the desserts are outstanding amazing. We visited a lot of places on the globe before and love eating good food, but Boy outperformed on that and made our stay extraordinary. Everything there is provided by a team offering great outstanding service by heart giving you the idea of being the most important and only guest in this restaurant. We decided to come here instead of Taman National Park because we heard that it's the same vegetation and wildlife without the entrance fee. On the drive to the restaurant we saw many deer and birds.

The restaurant itself is breathtaking and the service is spectacular. My wife and I took a dip in the infinity pool during sunset and sipped cappuccinos poolside which were very good. For dinner we ordered the nachos for starters and seafood pasta and cordon bleu. The food was good but the pasta was a bit too sweet. The staff were completely gracious and offered to replace the food to our taste. We really felt well taken care of and would highly recommend. Prices are high for Bali but...
