This is by far the best restaurant you will find in the Munduk region, and perhaps the best Indonesian food you will find in all of Bali. We have been a frequent visitor of Ulekan in Berawa (Canggu/Seminyak), and this new venue serves the same awesome level of Indonesian food, but with an incredibly beautiful decor and view as a compliment. They have a free(!!) pickup and drop-off service - which is great given the winding mountain roads you need to take to reach the restaurant. Service is really good, warm Bali hospitality. We were with two young kids (age 2 and 1), and though at first glance this is not a kids place, staff was super accomodating to make them feel relaxed. And they have a real good kids menu as well. The food is just insanely good. It's Indonesian as you will find it at Warungs, but with the best ingredients and layered flavours. The menu has local delicacies like the black pig sausage, but also all-time favourites like satay, nasi goreng and rendang (try the eggplant version instead of beef for a change, mindblowing). Cocktails have a local twist and are a great start of the meal (the takes on Margherita and Moscow mule are great). Just a single improvement point: quite a few bottles of the wine menu were sold out.
All in all, this is a must visit when you're...

As a big foodie and someone who tries to find the best places in Bali, I truly don’t understand why this place has such high reviews. Though the staff are great, attentive and pleasant to have around, the food (especially considering the standards, pricing etc) is JUST okay. We tried many dishes (plates that were highly recommended) and were not impressed. Food was good but not great. Considering how amazing plates like Redang, Bebek Goreng, Urap Urap is in general, this place seemed to rid the plates of all flavors and spice for westerners (which I am one but I prefer spice which these dishes typically have).
Munduk has other great local options that I would choose over this place. I assume it has such great reviews because one of the most popular places to stay (Munduk Cabins) is...
Read moreA beautifully located new restaurant with a very cozy and stylish interior. I recommend coming here at sunset, as it creates an incredible atmosphere through the glass wall. Our biggest surprise, however, was the genuine Indonesian food, wonderful spices, very pronounced and authentic flavors. Something we've been looking for in Bali for a long time amidst a myriad of restaurants. The restaurant is in the Munduk Cabins resort, and if you're staying there, I really wouldn't recommend looking for anything else, as there isn't a better restaurant in the area, and it seems hard to find one as good on the entire island. If you’re looking for authentic Indonesian cuisine, beautifully served dishes, and good service, you must come here even if it’s...
