Waroeng Hoki 99 — Restaurant in Bali

Just arrived here. The place was recommended and I wasn't disappointed. Friendly staff, great decor and music. The menu was designed by the chef who is obviously formally trained. I was very hungry so started with the calamari romano which was very tasty, awesome sauce. Had a juice, a cocktail, a Balinese wheat beer and some arak to drink. For the main I had the fish meuniere with sauteed vegetables and mash potato which was complemented by another exceptional sauce. Even got dessert, the Dadar gulung with ice cream which is Balinese green crepes stuffed with grated coconut and palm sugar with grape dragon sauce and ice cream. The presentation of everything was impeccable as where the flavours. Definitely the best meal I have had in a local warung and I've been coming to Bali and other parts of Indonesia for over 35...

What a shame we can only give 5 stars. Food is fresh and delicious! Fresh prawn were brought in and 5 minutes later we had fantastic grilled prawns. Seafood, Indonesian and western all great! We visited 7 times (not even tried another place). We also highly recommend the sambuca lemon. Food and drinks are cheap.

And the staff? Amazing! Friendly, helpful and very funny too. The helped us take pictures of the buses😂. We will miss them.

Ho dato 4 stelle (altrimenti avrei dato 3 stelle) perché non conosco bene questa cultura e modi di cucinare ma ci sono cose che non mi hanno convinto. Sul servizio non ho nulla da dire. Ho chiesto una grigliata mista di pesce e le porzioni sono veramente minime diverse dalla foto che è stata postata e questo non va bene. Questo mi è dispiaciuto. 3 anelli di calamari, 2 gamberi e una piccolissima fetta di pesce ...avevo ancora fame ....poi ho preso bruschette al pomodoro...Il cibo mi sembrava di qualità ma credo ci sia un influenza americana o australiana sul modo di cucinare e come Italiano Ho avuto delle difficoltà. Ad esempio la bruschetta al pomodoro con il ketchup era dolciastra e quindi l abbiamo lasciata. Comunque gentili e riparativi rispetto ad un loro errore sempre legato ad un eccesso di spezie che sembra sia di tutti questi locali a Pemuteran. Nella zona sud sembra abbiano capito che a volte le spezie vanno portate a parte. Dolce buono. Per l ambiente ho dato 3 perché il ristorante , come molti, è sulla strada e il rumore delle macchine era veramente fastidioso. A Pemuteran ancora non hanno deciso di rallentare il traffico in prossimità di un centro abitato e quindi i locali ne pagano le conseguenze infatti alcune persone sono andate via per il...
