Warung Hana — Restaurant in Bali

Been here 2 times by walk and recommended by my hostel owner, it’s located near the big road so I would say that it’s easier to come by scooter. By walk is very difficult since they don’t have proper pave road so to come here I always got the fear that the scooter or cars might run over me.

The first time when I tried the food, it was pretty good with affordable price. I like the one with chicken costs 25k. However, the second time I ordered another chicken set (25k) and I also ordered grilled shrimp (35k), it was okay but not so good. I feel a bit disappointed and the next morning I had serious stomachache pain, I think the cause is the shrimp which is not really fresh. I didn’t had anything else after this meal that day so that’s what I felt.

I won’t go to this restaurant again this time, because I am a huge fan of shrimp dishes and I was a bit sad that I had a belly pain due to it. However, there’s many other dishes in the restaurant and they also have coffee and ice cream, the environment is quite nice, too. I would recommend people who want to have fair price and good environment to come here but maybe not to try...

We sat upstairs and it was obviously a little busy so we knew service would be a bit slow. However when we sat down they immediately asked what we wanted to order before we had a chance to even look at the menus. We felt pressured and ordered some drinks and a starter to buy us some time. She wrote down the orders and took our menu, because she needed them for other guests. We tried to explain we needed them to make a decision. She still took 2 out of 3 menus. Not long after our drinks and starter was served and we asked for another menu so we could all have a look. We got our menus and again she wanted to take our order straight away we felt pressured again so we quickly ordered something. One of us felt a bit sick so I asked if we could have the order to go which was no problem. After waiting about 20 minutes I asked if the take away was almost done, to which she replied yes it's already downstairs waiting for you. I have followed this warung as it has moved from one location to another. Each time I can see that the owners understand the needs of their customers and want to move to the next level. This final location is the very best ever. Overlooking rice fields, decorated with treasured artifacts, love the tiles one the floor, you can hardly remember the traffic in front…. But the most important ever rare point I want to make is the quality and care with the food. The owner himself oversees and even cooks the food with great care and love. Wholesome, fresh, carefully seasoned and presented with an eye for beauty- then delivered by the watchful eye of the owner partner who oversees the service. A great team.
