✅ Final Verdict – 4 / 5 Stars
Restoran Bebek Joni is a solid hotspot in Ubud: it hits high marks for ambiance and duck quality, with lovely rice-terrace views and memorable photo moments. Just be prepared for the tourist buzz and some inconsistency during busy times. Opt for duck dishes and a calm time slot for the...
Read moreOn the way back from river rafting, my driver took us to Bebek Joni. I didn't know much about the restaurant till getting there, but was pleasantly surprised. From the pictures available, you can see B.J. is a large dining area set outside, under canopies, on a garden with several lily pad laden ponds. It's a beautiful landscape during the day, romantic at night and it's the exact type of place you'd want to take a date for dinner - especially when you consider that dinner in a place like this would cost more back at home.
The Atmosphere gets 5 stars, but I almost consider taking one away because they don't burn any insecticide or have any insect control. Not as many flies and ants as I've encountered in other restaurants nearby, but enough to be noticed.
As for service, I say it's average. Part of my order never made it to the table. It made the bill however. I had to tell the waitress to remove the portions of my order that never made it to my table. I was also surprised that no water or anything else was served.
The FOOD was quite good. There's a large menu with a lot of choices. If you want fried duck, spaghetti, chicken or beef, there's a number of options. There's a large drink list too with lots of fresh fruit slushies nd mixes.
Prices are exactly what you'd expect from a restaurant in Bali. Most of the meals are inexpensive and the higher prices are on the alcoholic beverages.

Read moreBali was our third port stop during our 28 day Asia cruise and we had a private tour arranged for the day. Our amazing tour guide brought us to Restoran Bebek Joni for lunch and it was such a great choice.
This place is absolutely stunning. It is surrounded by peaceful rice fields and there are so many beautiful spots to take pictures. We sat in a traditional Balinese bale hut overlooking the fields which made the experience even more special.
Service was fast and efficient. My husband had a cold beer the kids enjoyed fresh watermelon juice and I had a refreshing lime juice. We started with chicken soup for the girls and mushroom soup for me. Everything tasted fresh and comforting.
For the main course our six year old had the whole fish platter called Ikan Goreng ala Teges and our five year old had the satay platter which came with its own mini coal stove. The girls absolutely loved cooking their own satay right at the table. My husband and I ordered one of the traditional set menus that included crispy duck and a variety of Balinese dishes. It was full of authentic flavor and beautifully presented.
We finished with fried banana and melon for dessert which was a perfect sweet treat. The kids had so much fun exploring the beautiful property after lunch.
This was a truly memorable and authentic Balinese experience. Highly recommended for families and anyone who wants great food in a gorgeous...
