Chingu Cafe — Restaurant in Bandung City

order: smoked jjajangmyeon, sundubu jjigae, corndog maknae, crispy chicken skin, lychee tea, army and aroha drinks.

first, let’s start with the food. the jjajangmyeon was very bad. over-sweetened and unenjoyable. the portion was also small, definitely not worth the price. the sundubu was oversalted and overpriced, with barely anything in it. the corndog maknae was decent, but for that price? i could get a bigger, better-tasting one elsewhere with much better value. the crispy chicken skin was kinda nice at first, but over time, it just gets boring.

then, the drinks.😇 if you’re looking to shorten your life with diabetes, then you’ve come to the right place.✨ when the lychee tea came, i was left speechless. any person with the right mind could see that it is NOT drinkable. the syrup was literally separating itself from the tea—you could visibly see the syrup filling half the glass. the bts and astro drinks? also not worth it. over-sweetened as well.

next, the toilet. WATAFAK! i’m gonna let my bf write this part.

hi! this is mr. boyfriend. to summarize it, the toilet was heinous. DISGUSTING.

imagine if 100 men pissed on the wall and nobody cleaned it for years! that wouldn’t even come close to the horror of a smell i had to go through. please, for your own safety, just piss your pants if you come here. trust me, man to man!

ok, that’s it. the scenery and ambience were decent, and honestly, the place has potential. i really hope they can improve, because with better food, drinks, and cleanliness, it could be so much...

good place for dating & small party like birthday annivs. i won't recommend 4-5 person meal course for some student since it was so pricey, likabout 52k per person avgly. But overall, the food is like general cow & chicken meat with soup, just has topokki on it, the rest is usual tofu ,sausage, noodle, xtra rice (not the sticky rice, so it's kinda hard to pick it with chopstick). The dining kit is perfect, you got everything u need to eat, plates, bowl, spoon , stove, hotplate & stuff. Mineral water was so pricey as well, you could buy 3 500ml mineral water for only 1 250ml mineral water there 😂 idk why they make it overpriced. The things might because of tax probably, but i ain't sure about overall pricing. The service was a lil slow in cooking, but they can pack last food for take away, they're also standing by on duty whenever we need them. The atmosphere is kinda cool, eccentric of Korean so much, all the styling are perfectly made as in s.korea, 1 best spot is the korean city background, adaptation of the physical feeling of the environment, but it's kinda small & for me, it's not really recommended for exploration stuff which most boys like to do. Just like what i said earlier, suits better for dating, chilling, party, especially for party could be held on the first floor...

Bukan Untuk Kulineran Serius

Sejak pertama buka di Sawungggaling, Chingu Cafe termasuk salah satu restoran yang saya hindari. Banyak review yang mengatakan rasa masakan biasa-biasa saja atau hanya menjual tempat saja. Akhirnya karena berencana mau mengajak saudara makan ke cabang Sawunggaling suka tidak suka harus mencoba. (Endingnya batal karena tidak mau)

Chingu Cafe cabang Buah Batu tidak sebesar cabang Sawunggaling, berkaitan dengan itu tempat lebih kecil dan beberapa menu tidak tersedia. Beberapa spot berukuran kecil sehingga ambience (terutama lantai dua) kelihatan artifisial atau dalam kata lain palsu secara kentara. Meski demikian, dalam satu gedung terdapat beberapa area makan dengan interior yang berbeda-beda meskipun berukuran kecil.

Dibandingkan dengan beberapa restoran Korea lainnya, menu Chingu Cafe tergolong variatif. Ada snack hingga korean BBQ. Ada menu minuman unik dengan judul minuman berdasarkan nama fandom boyband atau girlband. Menariknya, harga yang dicantumkan menggunakan kurs Won (versi Chingu Cafe, perlu diketahui harga dalam Rupiah sama dengan harga dalam Won dikali 10).

Korean Chicken Popcorn (9/10) Pilih saus sweet. Menu disajikan di gelas dilapisi kertas. Menu ini tergolong lumayan enak, sausnya terasa manis dan gurih. Sayangnya rasanya tidak konsisten. Pada tumpukan bawah, rasa saus tidak setajam tumpukan di atas.

Odeng (7/10) Menu Odeng terdiri dari dua tusuk fishcake ditusuk dalam tusuk sate. Ya cuma begitu aja.

Kimbab (7/10) Isinya didominasi sayuran (ada sayur asin juga), telur dan cincangan daging. Menu disajikan dengan saus gojuchang dibentuk tulisan Chingu Cafe dalam hangul.

Bokkeumbap (7/10) Bokkeumbap adalah nasi goreng dengan kimchi. Topping nasi goreng (sayuran dan daging) dipotong kecil-kecil. Anehnya rasa saus gojuchang malah lebih dominan. Sebaliknya, kimchinya sangat sedikit, berukuran kecil dan minus rasa asam. Bokkeumbap disajikan hotplate, sehingga dapat mendapatkan sensasi karak nasi goreng.

Beef Ramyeon (7/10) Beef Ramyeon disajikan pada panci seperti di buku menu, namun tidak dimasak di wadah tersebut. Isinya sangat minimalis, hanya ada sayuran wortel dan taoge, potongan daging (kecil-kecil ukurannya!) dan telur (bisa request setengah matang atau matang). Rasa kuahnya juga tidak begitu menonjol.

Yujacha (10/10) Yujacha adalah teh rasa jeruk yuzu dengan madu. Ada topping manisan kulit jeruk pada minuman. Rasanya tergolong unik ada manis dari madu dan jeruk yuzu. Tidak menyesal memesan versi panas, sebab terasa pas.

Oksusucha (7/10) Oksusucha adalah teh terbuat dari roasted corn. Rasa jagung tidak terlalu berasa, malah rasanya mirip Boricha tapi kurang nendang.

Boricha (9/10) Boricha adalah teh terbuat dari roasted barley. Suka banget rasa smokeynya yang khas.

Sebagian besar rasa menu Chingu Cafe tidak terlalu authentik. Kuah odeng misalnya cenderung asin. Rasa pedas khusus menu pedas juga tergolong berani.

Ternyata apa yang dikatakan banyak orang ada benarnya. Berhubung harganya tergolong murah, kualitas berbanding lurus mengikuti harga. Apa boleh buat, kualitas menu Chingu Cafe memang ada yang tergolong ala kadarnya karena mengikuti harga jual. Kalau buat serius mengejar rasa...
