Update September 2024.
We regularly go to Halo, and as long as we order our favorites, things go well. We usually order 300-500k of the same items, each time.
Last month, we made our normal full order of Roasted Pork for 160k, along with 4 other items. When I got the small pork container, it looked like the half order. I weighed it to make sure it was the 250g portion, as advertised. I was rather shocked that it was under 200g.
The restaurant was called, and they did send out some more, without complaint.
I ordered tonight again, mentioning when ordering at the restaurant to make sure the roasted pork weight was accurate this time. At home, again, the weight was under 200gr. The restaurant didn’t answer their phone, a few minutes before 9pm. Perhaps they were getting ready to close.
The restaurant finally responded to our text, saying the 250gr is a precooked weight. It doesn’t say this anywhere on their menu. Also, on previous orders, the small container was full of roasted pork, not 2/3 full like the last two times.
This is one of my favorite Chinese restaurants in Bandung. I really enjoy their duck, crispy pork, dumplings, and sweet and sour pork.
The bad part is the Szechuan pork. I’ve eaten Szechuan dishes in China and around the world. This is one of the worst I’ve ever had. The flavor of the sauce is not good. I asked my wife to pick me some items up this week, but she unfortunately picked out the Szechuan...
Read moreIf you’re looking for an authentic Hong Kong dining experience in Bandung, you have to check out Halo Hong Kong Cafe by Tiny Dumpling, the first Hong Kong–style restaurant in Bandung. From the moment you walk in, the cozy atmosphere and friendly service make you feel right at home.
One of the highlights here is definitely the homemade dim sum. Everything is freshly made, and honestly, it tastes so good—soft, flavorful, and easily some of the best dim sum I’ve tried in the city.
Their authentic Hong Kong noodles are also a must-try. The texture, aroma, and seasoning feel like they came straight from a street corner in Hong Kong. If you love noodles, you won’t want to skip this.
But the real star of the menu? Their B2 (pork) specialties, which many people say are the best in Bandung. Tender, juicy, and bursting with flavor—this is the place to go if you’re a pork lover.
The cafe itself is clean and very Instagrammable, with a modern yet warm design that makes it perfect for photos. It’s also a great spot for dining with family or friends, whether you're stopping by for a casual meal or celebrating a special moment.
Overall, Halo Hong Kong Cafe offers flavors that truly feel like eating in real Hong Kong, right here in Bandung. Highly recommended for anyone craving something authentic, delicious,...
Read moreMy recent visit to Halo Hongkong Bandung during lunchtime left me with mixed feelings. The restaurant was a bit crowded, so we were directed to the upper floor, which offered a cozy atmosphere nonetheless. Despite the initial inconvenience, we were promptly attended to by the staff.
We ordered a variety of dishes, including nasi campur, dim sum, peach gum, and curry pork rice. The overall quality of the food was commendable, with flavors that satisfied our cravings. However, our experience was slightly dampened by the absence of fried meatballs in the nasi campur dish. The staff kindly offered alternatives like boiled eggs or chicken, but it was disappointing nonetheless. Additionally, some dim sum items were unavailable, limiting our choices.
Despite these hiccups, the waitstaff displayed excellent manners and professionalism throughout our meal. Despite the bustling lunchtime crowd on a weekend, they remained attentive and courteous, which was appreciated. Overall, while there were minor setbacks, the experience at Halo Hongkong Bandung was enjoyable, and I would consider returning for another...
