Abuba Steak — Restaurant in Bogor

I'm usually a fan of abuba's steaks, but sadly this particular restaurant is kind of a letdown.

Cook of the meats are off. Asked for a medium well, got a well done. Asked for a medium, got a rare. Etc. But i kept coming back to gave them chance. I thought to myself: well maybe it was just the case for cheaper cuts... So by the time i came back, we ordered a pretty expensive cut and asked them to cook it the best way they know. What i got was a rubbery chewy medium rare steak. Literally -and yes i do mean literally, inedible. I chewed my first slice for like two minutes and it just won't dissolve, my cheeks was starting to hurt, i had to swallow it whole.

Out of disappointment, i asked the steak to be wrapped for a takeout. At home, i basted it with butter to medium well, let it rest for a bit, and it turned out to be very delicious! Tender and juicy! So it's definitely not a problem with the meat, just the cook.

On the bright side, the place itself is really neat. It have a cozy atmosphere that'll be perfect for family dinners, business meetings, and especially dates. Probably if you just want to sit down and order some drinks with appetizers? I never have any problems with their shirley temples or calamaris.

But yeah, i'm not coming back until this place score better reviews on the steaks. As of now (2018), i can't recommend it for fellow...

I went here about a month ago(as this apps told me).

It was nice experience. I brought my mom's with me as usual. The main reason I visit this place is actually since I've been going to Abuba's since their first warung makan in Cipete when I was still elementary for my school was pretty close to this place.

Had a short talk with one of the waitress there about how Abuba was just a small restaurant, like a sop-kambing retaurant or sate stall when we went long time ago and how although the steak was pretty much the same, they used to give way more vegetables there.

Since my elementary days we often visit the place and never had any bad experience with them.

Abuba has developed so much. Now they have very very nice and cozy restaurant with great atmosphere and nice many waiters. Alhamdulilah. God bless.

Menu: western / steak Price: 7/10 Taste: 5/10, I've ordered medium rare steak (always medium rare in any steak restaurant 😁), they serve it rare and a bit cold, they replaced it but its just the same. My friends steak also served less then warm, they ordered a medium, so it would be very strange the restaurant serve it cold. Atmosphere: 6/10 Surrounding: 7/10 Services: 8/10, the server was polite and keep on apologizing for the food 👍 Revisit: 2/5 | this branch? Maybe not. Recommend to others: 2/5 | maybe not
