Food This restaurant serves authentic Sundanese cuisine. I ordered the Gurame Bunga Kecombrang, and it tasted great. The fish was incredibly crispy and topped with a sweet and sour sauce made with fresh bunga kecombrang, which added a delightful flavor. My favorite dish, however, was the chicken satay (sate ayam). The chicken was so tender that it was easy to bite and chew, and the peanut sauce was absolutely delicious.
For vegetables, I tried the genjer tumis bawang, which tasted fresh with a hint of savory flavor. Other recommended dishes include tahu, tempe mendoan, and sayur asem, all of which are excellent choices.
Place The restaurant is strategically located on the main road between the toll road exit and the Bogor Botanical Garden. It has ample parking space and an outdoor playground for kids. One thing that immediately stood out was how clean the restaurant is.
The indoor area has a modern design blended with traditional elements. The cream-colored walls are complemented by batik-patterned tiles, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The outdoor area features traditional saung (gazebos) surrounded by lush greenery. The tables are spacious and well-arranged, ensuring comfort. Even the staff’s attire reflects the restaurant's cleanliness and attention to detail.
Service My first impression of the staff was how well-dressed they were, wearing a combination of modern and traditional attire. I particularly liked the European-style uniforms paired with batik cloth. The staff were very polite and greeted us with warm smiles.
The waitstaff were knowledgeable about the menu and able to explain the dishes well. The service was incredibly fast, with all our food served within minutes.
Price The prices are reasonable for the portion sizes and the quality of the food. Dishes are priced between Rp 30,000 and Rp 100,000, which might be slightly more expensive than other Sundanese restaurants, but the overall experience makes it worth it.
Conclusion I highly recommend this restaurant for anyone looking to try Sundanese food in a comfortable and clean setting. It’s especially ideal for first-time visitors to Bogor who want an authentic and pleasant...
Read moreIt was the first time for my family and I dining in at RM. Bumi Aki Bogor but it wasn't the first time we tasting Bumi Aki since we usually go to Bumi Nini/Bumi Aki at Puncak. For the vibes itself, it is all the same with others Bumi Aki/Bumi Nini restaurant, so does with the prices. My family and I usually order their nasi liwet for family package, gurame crispy and all but this time we want to try their a la carte. We ordered Sop Daging, Mie Rebus, Ayam Penyet, Waffle with ice cream, orange juices, and the last one was roti bakar. For the plating, they got it 9/10 especially for their Sop Daging and Mie Rebus but please I wish you could get it more chocolate for your 30k-ish roti bakar next time so it could be more worth the money😉 for the staffs, they were all so kind as always and as their other restaurant branches, it was all really comfortable, aesthetic restaurant (for Bogor branch, there are imitation lake so you could feel sundanese villages vibes). For muslims, Bumi Aki always get you right. They always facilitate with fresh and newly laundry pray tools for you who forget to bring it (mukena, sejadah & sarung) so you can feel relieves for eating there. For the playground, I didn't realize it but Bumi Aki/Bumi Nini always facilitate playground for kids to wait. Also, the parking lot at this branch also spacious even they are in the middle...
Read moreIt's our first experience in Bumi Aki. We will come again. Bumi Aki was very crowded on that Sunday, most of the customers were like us: family. So, bear in your mind to make reservation first - at least 2 days before if you plan to go there on Saturday or Sunday.
The ambiance for family style resto was good: either "lesehan" or ordinary seating chair. The live music provided on certain hours with all kind of songs addedd positive thing for this place.
Now about the food - price: as we waited to be seated, we had enough time to observe the menu book. For fish, they have whole fish selection, but not for chicken. Gurami asam manis is recommended. For chicken, ayam bakar is well cooked and tasty. Ayam Goreng Mentega is served with small pieces of chicken, so note that one plate is enough for 3-4 pax.
The price is reasonable compared to the food/beverages served.
There are more than enough staffs who take your order promptly - and clear up the tables as well. The cashiers have their tablets to provide your bills so you can easily check things that had been ordered.
The toilets are clean and they put some aroma-theurapic candles, so the scent in the toilet is so amazingly nice.
The parking is no issue as an additional parking lot in nearby mosque' yard...
