Hi I'd like to give you a reason for the 2 stars and for it to be a genuine critique so that you can use the feedback to improve. On the menu I tried your Cha tea, Vegtable Samosa, Mutton Byriani, Mutton martabak, Chicken tikka massala. Your Cha tea came across very strong and I normally have it at the end of the meal but had it ordered first to go with the samosas. Quite frankly the tea almost put me off having anything else, the taste/smell of cloves was overpowering. Do you use ready made tea or make it yourself? Lesson the strength of the cloves please. Your samosa at first I thought was a pastel, the pastry was thick, better to have a thinner outer layer. Work on the spices to chilli ratio as well, I felt the Samosa was a bit hot. What I liked about the Mutton byriani was the softness of the meat. What was lacking was the lack of spices. Also I wanted it to feel fresher. The Mutton martabak was more like an omelette then a dish which has roti in it. It needs more substance. Finally the chicken tikka massala. I didn't find that dish true to its name, it was more like a chicken korma and didn't represent flavours you associate with chicken tikka. Again you need to get the right spice ratio. Unfortunately the cafe is opposite the main road and has the noise, fumes of traffic going by. Maybe in the future you can make an area bit more private and hopefully a future venue would be enclosed not effected by main road interference. This critique is only to help enhance what you have. I have eaten from some of the best Indian restaurants who have won many awards within the UK and have had family and friends cook authentic Indian meals who have had been taught through generations. It's a high standard but only to help you better in what you do....
Read moreWe had high hopes that we'd get great Indian food from here, given the many positive reviews on Google, so we ordered a lot of things, such as their Mutton Curry, Aloo Paneer Curry, Mutton Biryani, Butter Chicken, Paratha, Masala Chai and Mango Lassi. But when our order arrived, we were all so shocked by how small the portions were at the given price point. To make things worse, none of the curries were that great.
The worst out of all of them was without a doubt the BUTTER CHICKEN. Of all things, the BUTTER CHICKEN, which is supposed to be a staple dish. It was so bad that we couldn't even eat it.
Basically, this place is highly overpriced and the portion and taste are subpar. The only thing I would consider reordering is their paratha or masala chai.
UPDATE: I really do appreciate the owner's willingness to rectify my experience and send me a whole new batch of food at no cost. When I contacted them, they promptly sent me the same food I had ordered the other day. Unfortunately, I'm sad to say that my family and I are all still dissatisfied with the taste, as we could barely finish any of the food, so I'm unable to give a high review...
Read moreNot a fan, maybe because this was the first time I tried Indian cuisine, so I guess my palatte was not familiar with the foods I ordered. The mutton in the mutton curry was really tender so that's good. But, the curry itself was not to my liking (not as "heavy", intense & savoury as cincang, and there was a hint of tomato I feel?).
I thought the taste would be close to Padang food as both cuisines feature many curry-based dishes, but I was wrong I guess.
What dissapointed me was the side dish, I was expecting something more flavourful, but I found both of the sides (cauliflower curry & I do not know the name of the other) rather bland.
I was expecting more from the 5-star reviews, but unfortunately was let down so I had to give it a 3. Perhaps the mutton curry wasn't their best dish?
That being said, this is likely due to my taste preference & the fact that I am not familiar w/ Indian cuisine. No issue at all with the service/quality of the ingredients. Also, I had the food delivered through Grab, and the packaging was impressive. Also, the basmati rice was great,...
