LUX SURAKARTA — Restaurant in Central Java

Went here for dinner service, happened to be at the same time where a dinner party was celebrated there. Ordered two dishes and 2 "jasmine" tea and a mango smoothie.

My chicken pasta cream came and the pasta tasted delicious. The chicken were very dry; perhaps roasted after imperfect thawing, I don't know. Just very dry.

My friend ordered chicken with mozzarella cheese; the chicken were tender but turned out to be undercooked. Meat still very red, but we were so hungry we just ate that (and got stomachache later).

The icea tea both came in separate jars, I was happy at first. Then after pouring it on to my glass and had a sip, it clearly tasted just like that instant tea Sisri. A bit redundant, filling the tea pot with icea while there's already ice in our glass.

The mango smoothie were watery and filled with shredded cheese and chocochips...go figure.

The last straw were the loud music from the bday party... No quiet place anymore so my friend went on to pay for our meal and we get back to our hotel.

For a restaurant that were considered a nice dining place, to get the ice tea taste like something else than tea, is just a bit off. Maybe head chef need to re-check their staff again and how meal...

Heard from a friend that one of the popular hotel’s chef in solo city is making his own restaurant. We tried the western set. Appetizer were delicious (sago pearl porridge, chicken croquette). Main dish was disappointing, the best one was tomato meatball soup. Chicken was undercooked that we found the blood and reddish part of chicken meat (see pic). Others were ok. Thankfully the dessert was sweet and savory. As for the place, there are mushola, toilet, and sky view side, pool view side and not too crowded so it was nice to have...

Kesan pertama saat pintu lift terbuka di lantai 7 Menara One 'Out of My expectation'

Sebelumnya sudah reservasi + DP untuk menu Ala Carte. Saat kami datang, tidak ada yg menyambut karena semua staff sedang sibuk prepare untuk finding di bawah. Ada beberapa meja yg sudah set up untuk finding juga di dekat pool. Tapi saya rasa kurang koordinasi antar staff. Karena server terlihat kebingungan saat saya menanyakan meja mana yg saya reserved. Akhirnya saya pilih duduk di bangku yg masih kosong. Tapi sayang cutleries tidak sesuai dgn menu" yg saya pesan. Saya pesan beef sandwich tapi tidak diberi dinner knife dan miles crepes tidak disediakan dessert spoon/dessert fork. Di table juga tidak disediakan tissue, minuman juga tanpa coaster. Harus minta terlebih dahulu. (Kurang inisiatif) Saat server memberikan dinner knife & dessert spoon yg saya req, ada spot karena pemberiannya tanpa dibungkus napkin. Padahal untuk yg finding, they gave best treat. Saran untuk pelayanan harus ditingkatkan lagi.
