Paksi Coffee House — Restaurant in Central Java

We have stayed for three nights at Maya's. On arrival she has offered to choose from the two rooms, that was already a great start, although equally both seems great, spacious and very clean. We loved the deco!||We had lots of great memories, like taking the sunrise tour (highly recommended!), cycling (rental for 25.000/day) around Borobudur, once even Maya came with us, showed us her neighborhood, she even invited in her home in the close by village, gosh such a lovely lady!||It was nice to hear from her how locals live there, Indonesian traditions, culture, religion and of course having delicious coffees every day. Oooh and try her yummy avocado juice (in season) 25.000Rupiah, I could not have enough of it. ;-)||Also she can organize to come to the house a lady who does massage for her, we had her every day for a very reasonable price.||She even helped us to book flight ticket at the local shop, that was the only way to do so for next day.||We had an amazing time, Maya is such a wonderful host, we did not wanted to leave....hopefully we can return one day.||Dear Maya, we wish you all the best and thank you again for looking after us and making our stay...

We wanted to stay a bit longer at Borobudur than just for the visit. Looking at all websites we decided to book at Paksi Coffee House. That was the best thing we could have done. Maya, the owner, is the best host we have had so far in our travelling for more than 30 years. First she makes the best coffee in Java, not cheap but quality has its price. Secondly, you get the best informationdesk/ tourguide possible. Maya has connections with the artscene in Borobudur and can give you directions for the galleries.||And her place is wonderful. Paksi has clean and spacious rooms. It is only a few hundred meters from the normal entrance and also a few hundred meters from the entrance for sunrise at the Borobudur. We found the charm in the “do it yourself breakfast”, but maybe others don’t. And if you really want to spoil Maya: make the one and only Borobudurpizza for her...
