Oui Dining — Restaurant in City of Medan

Been through most of the fine dining restaurant in Medan, so I can safely say OUI is legit. Never been pampered with this kind of fine dining service, they just raised my expectation to what Medanese fine dining can actually do.

We're here for our wedding anniversary, when we came in, we were surprised with the live violin performance throughout our dining session. It really lifts up the mood (song choices are excellent), the butler is very friendly, clean and dapper. The interior is very clean, polished and beautiful. Every single thing adds up to what is a more romantic evening than we ever been in.

The seven course of food is very palatable, every few courses of food have their own companion drink (no alcohol) that complement the dishes. The dish is presented and explained by the chef himself, every dish is PERFECTLY COOKED and seasoned, high palate that suits Medanese tongue. There is not a dish that went unfinished.

At the end of our session, we were given hot Earl Grey tea and madeleines. What a nice gesture from OUI, not hurrying us to finish our session and leave, but inviting us to stay for tea (to note, Earl Grey just happens to be my most favorite kind of tea, to be served my favorite tea without asking is just frikkin awesome) and have a little chat.

Semoga manajemen berbenah agar "Oui" tidak diterjemahkan sebagai "cafe penuh drama". Dari kelola reservasi dan table setting yang "asal ada", hingga larangan untuk merayakan ultah di tempat ini. Kami ber-6 sudah reservasi 6 hari yang lalu dan memberitahukan bahwa kami akan merayakan ultah, dan ketika tiba, diberikan meja gaya "bangku tempel" - terdiri dari 2 sofa dobel seater dan 2 kursi makan. Bahkan ketinggian kursi dan sofa BEDA, tetapi disusun di 1 meja yang sama. Karena tidak nyaman dengan table setting tersebut, kami meminta pindah ke meja sebelah. Permintaan tidak diizinkan oleh "Pia". Infonya meja sudah direservasi oleh customer lain untuk jam 12.30WIB - padahal waktu kami request, waktu sudah menunjukkan pukul 13.10WIB (lewat 40 menit dari waktu reservasi) dan meja sebelah belum ditempati. Kami menunggu hingga jam 14.00WIB dan bertanya lagi ke Pia. Awal jawabannya adalah "SOP kami , apabila 15 menit setelah reservasi tamu tidak hadir, akan dikonfirmasi." Lalu setelah saya counter bahwa sewaktu kami request pindah meja , sudah lewat 40 menit dari waktu reservasi meja sebelah (12.30 WIB), "silat lidah" dimulai...... "Tamu sudah info re-schedule ke jam 16.00 WIB".

Ini bukan satu2nya drama hari ini di cafe yang katanya "Fine Dining". Drama dimulai lagi ketika kami melakukan perayaan ultah atas 2 teman kami. Kami sudah pernah berkunjung dan merayakan ultah di tempat ini sblmnya, semua hepi karena disambut dengan compliment berupa birthday cake. Tetapi, hari ini muncul kata sakti SOP Owner bahwa "Di sini tidak boleh potong dan makan kue tar". Bingung juga - bukannya sudah kami informasikan pada saat reservasi ? Mungkin di sini, "kejutan" diartikan sebagai SOP yang berubah sesuai cuaca yah ..... Good luck - happy housekeeping ! #HargaBintang5-...

The waiter is very arrogant, dont want to listen to what customer said, keep arguing 👎👎👎

When I ask to refill my teapot, the waiter keep saying ok wait, ok wait but never came to my table and refill it. I have to request untill four times and raise my teapot so the waiter can actually see the teapot is empty. What kind of service for a place they call fine dining , ruined...
