BALCONY Kitchen & Pastry — Restaurant in Depok

I was passing by very often, without knowing it's a restaurant and bakery. Because the name is hiding at the other side of the wall. Every time I was in Starbucks on the ground floor, it's keep showing Balcony .. finally I figured it out when I googled be it. First impression the place is huge, nice space, neat interior and decorations. Coffee and dessert booth looks very delicious. They have smoking area too that you can sit outside in the balcony. I ordered chicken salad for starter, pulled beef burger for the main course and apple cake for dessert. I also ordered ice lychee tea for my drink, and it's very delicious. But, the Chicken salad and the Pulled Beef Burger weren't good. The presentation of the food weren't great, it's too cheesy. The burger hadn't color of any vegetables, and the chicken salad with peanut dressing isn't good in my opinion. I love the apple cake, it's taste like cheese cake with apple flavor inside.

I will definitely come back, because I want to try other meals. And also I love the place for having afternoon coffee ❤️

I've been to this place several times, and I can confidently say it’s one of my go-to restaurants! Whenever I’m unsure about where to eat, this spot is always a solid choice. The food menu is quite varied, so there's always something new to try. One of the standout dishes I’d recommend is the salted egg, flavorful, rich, and definitely satisfying.

Their desserts are also worth mentioning. I almost always go for their cheesecakes, and they never disappoint. The berry toppings are fresh and tangy, pairing perfectly with the smooth, creamy texture of the cake. As for the drinks, they’re pretty decent too, nothing mind-blowing, but refreshing and nicely presented.

Price-wise, it’s on the higher end, especially when compared to the average wage in Yogyakarta. But honestly, it feels worth it. The portion sizes are fair, the taste lives up to the price, and the overall experience makes it a good value.

The ambiance is also quite nice, cozy enough for casual hangouts, but also suitable for a peaceful morning coffee session. And shoutout to the staff: the waiters are always friendly and welcoming, which really adds to the comfort of the place.

-double cheeseburger: patty was juicy and well-seasoned, fries was good, big portion. -blackened fish and chips: visually interesting but the taste.. not as much. the fish was a bit fishy and the batter could be crispier. caesar salad: love the caesar dressing, the veggies are also fresh. tom yam: okay but tasted like instant tom yam i usually buy in grocery stores. balcony ice coffee: the coffee itself taste-wise it’s okay tapi dia pake bubble yang biasa dijual di supermarket (kaya jelly) instead of using bobba kaya yang chatime dll. should’ve take out the bubble. matcha latte: again, tasted like instant matcha i usually buy at grocery stores.
