This is a review of a supposedly MB5 Medium Rare Sirloin steak.
They supposedly slightly pan seared it then after they blowtorched it to “medium rare”.
First of all, the steak tasted more rare than medium rare but most importantly, they didn’t even get a crust from blowtorching it which they seem to prefer to a traditional cast iron sear (I’m not sure why, maybe because it looks cool?).
The steak itself is extremely chewy for an “MB5” grade steak and since they blowtorched (only one side), the fat cap is also extremely chewy (i literally gagged and threw my piece up). This could have been avoided if the fat cap was seared properly.
I’m sorry, but this is the worst MB5 Medium Rare sirloin I’ve had but a lot of it could be attributed to how it’s cooked. Even in the photos they can’t get a crust without over-finishing it but they can’t get it smack bang on medium...
Read more21 November 2024/ Sirloin black angus 255rb, ice strawberry tea 23rb. Pre tax/service, nggak tau netnya berapa, dibayarin hehe. Steaknya enak, sekilas kelihatan kecil tapi dengan seluruh side dishnya cukup. Aku mesen matengnya medium, dimasaknya pas, luarnya mateng dengan dalem yang masih juicy, pas digigit gampang, nggak alot. Rasa dagingnya gurih khas steak, nggak terlalu kuat salt & peppernya. Di atasnya ditaburin bumbu, terus dikasih setangkai rosemary yang dibroil sebelum dateng ke meja, jadi pas dateng ada aroma rosemary nya di udara. Di dagingnya nggak ada tho. Di sampingnya dikasih jamur kancing sama bawang putih. Jamur kancingnya sekilas kayak mentah, tapi pas dimakan ternyata mateng, rasa jamurnya levelnya pas, nggak terlalu earthy. Bawang putihnya kayaknya diacar atau direbus (?) teksturnya lembut, terus dibroil jadi luarnya burnt di beberapa sisi. Rasanya khas bawang putih, nggak terlalu kuat. Mereka ngasih banyak banget, beberapa temenku nggak abis bawang putih nya, aku sih kuhabisin aja karena enak hahah. Side dishnya untuk sayurnya aku milih creamy spinach, kentangnya milih lyonnaise potatoes, saosnya creamy Cajun. Creamy spinach nya enak, yang ditonjolin emang rasa bayamnya, creamnya sendiri rasanya lemah, lebih ke mbantu biar teksturnya lembut. Lyonnaise potatoes itu kentang diiris jadi lingkaran gitu kayak chips, tapi tebel. Kayaknya dimasak 2x (?) rebus terus dipanggang, soalnya teksturnya lembut khas rebus tapi luarnya kering, dan sisinya agak crisp khas panggang. Sisinya masih ada kulit kentang, nambah kuat rasa kentangnya. Atasnya ditaburin bumbu, nggak terlalu banyak jadi tetep rasa kentangnya yang kuat. Saos creamy cajunnya rasanya lebih ke kecut subtle, nggak ada pedesnya blas. Personally not too impressed, secara pribadi kayaknya mbalik default mushroom sauce aja next time. Strawberry tea nya enak, pas dihidangkan estetik, sirup stroberinya di bawah nggak diaduk, dengan 1 stroberi dan mint di atasnya.
Tempatnya bagus, tenang dengan lighting yang terang tapi nggak menyilaukan. Nice ambience. Kadang pas nunggu ada seliwer aroma masakan, bikin rada sulit fokus ngobrol hehe. Pelayanannya oke. Parkirnya di belakang, lumayan luas buat motor dan mobil. Nggak ada tukang parkir.
Overall a great experience, citarasa makanannya cenderung moderat, nothing too explosive. Satisfying, tapi rasanya just another western restaurant. Mungkin karena aku...
Read moreVisited two times during the ramadhan and holiday season. Both of the western and Indonesian menus were nice, pretty generous on the portioning and also some were nicely presented. Only some condiment of the Indonesian dish didn’t taste quite appropriate.
The service was okay, and probably due to new opening, some staffs were still adjusting.
The ambience was quite nice, although you will mostly hear the noise from the kitchen, and it will get louder when more activities take place.
Unfortunately the open-kitchen style caused unpleasant smoky odour, which can be smelled once you left the dining room. Inside was fine. I think they should address this. Looking forward to...
