Depot Murni — Restaurant in East Java

"depot murni" well that's the name, don't be mistaken with the appearance of this restaurant. maybe for some people say this restaurant is small. the place is not as big as a restaurant like that, but for the taste of cuisine there is no need to doubt. "Milkfish-fried thorns" or “bandeng goreng cabut duri” menu that you must try apart from the fried chicken itself. with raw chili sauce, it feels good when we eat this milkfish. they also sell typical drinks ... “beras kencur”. just try and you will feel the pleasure of your life. Kencur rice is a kind of traditional beverage, like herbal medicine, but not bitter. and for the people of Java, it is believed that if our bodies are tired or achy, drink this kencur rice, then the tired feeling or aches will surely disappear. I personally feel that when I travel a long journey which is sometimes accompanied by severe traffic jams, my body must feel tired, but after drinking the rice, the tired feeling seems to disappear on its own. more affordable price. but my advice is do not come at lunch time ... you will find it difficult to find a seat, because of the limitations of the place...

The Ayam Goreng Kalasan was really good, the meat was so tender and flavourful (more on the salty side). The Sambal's spiciness was perfect for me and salty. Tempe Penyet was good.

The food was delicious.

Unfortunately for me, the place was too cramped with people, you pretty much sit side by side with other people, cause the space was too small. I know it is not easy to expand the area, but I wish they can do something about it. But it is what it is, I guess.

For the service, it was not pleasant, since they only gave us the menu and a note to write what we want to order. Okay, I do not mind writing the order myself, but since the place was too cramped, and I did not see any server that I can call after I wrote my orders, I had to go to the cashier myself and gave the note. Actually I do not mind going to the cashier myself too, but with the amount of people cramped in that place, it was a hassle for me.

Overall, definitely recommended for the food, believe me it is good. But the service and the atmosphere were not pleasant at all. Definitely going back again for the food though.

rarely write bad review. but i dont like the ambience. starting with the parking service. i really fell offensed since i am a woman who try to park my car. at first the parking man told me to wait longer if i want to and he told me place that i can park. later on he try to give the parking lot to someone else. i was patiently waiting but then he (the parking man) come to me and tell me to park a bit far. i insist since at the begining he told me to park close to the resto but then other car is taking my slot. later on i got a lot (slot) to park my car, but then the parking man instruct me to park my car yelled at me. i was totally offense, asking him why he yelled. i totally can hear his voice. but later on he insist and defense that it's his normal voice. sooooo dammnnn experience. dont ask me about the restaurant. it's totally chaostic, crowded, and i'm not sure that i got my que. i just walk and return. dont...
