Kepiting Cak Gundul 1992 — Restaurant in East Java

Relatively large restaurant with an acceptable parking lot. Going from the parking lot to the restaurant is pretty far but you can see the kitchen which i don't think is clean. The seating there is acceptable but it is a bit hot in the 2nd floor. Food there is good, it is known for it's seafood, more specifically crabs. I personally enjoy the crabs and vegetables but i don't think i enjoy the fish as much as those two. However, it is shocking expensive. I went there with 4 people including myself and the bill is around than Rp 1million. I guess if you're very curious about it you could go there but then again there's a lot of seafood restaurants that rivals the taste but not...

The taste is undeniably good. It's a classic crab restaurant with no-nonsense approach. No silly pour-on-the-table thing, no fancy cheese sauce, just your old-school butter or sweet sour sauce. But they really need to up their game if they want to be able to grab the new emerging market. I'm not a fan of fancy crab dishes, but some of those new restaurants serve bigger, fresher crab than here with much cheaper price. Considering the distance and the premium price, emerging middle class young customers would just choose nearer and cheaper ones. I mean, they couldn't just rely on loyal customers...

None will question the taste of the foods. When holidays come, the place is crowded of customers who come even from other cities. Then, you can go to the parking lot behind the kitchen. No need to worry, the helpful staffs will show you the place. The staffs will tell you how long the queue. Although the cooking time was very quick, the customers cannot avoid the queue due to the number of the customers. Since early reservation is not common, prepare to think alternative...
