Warung Mbok Sul (WSL) Food & Beverages Banyuwangi — Restaurant in East Java

Even though I quite often driving pass this resto, It's the first time i come to this place since it's opening on April 2020

Everytime I saw this resto, it's always crowded

The resto don't have a parking space, since it's just beside the main road. So, you have to park along the road, and since it's surrounded by other resto, it's a bit hard to get parking slot, especially when you bring a car. For 2 or 3 car is still possible, more than that you need to park yours a little far from this resto

The resto isn't large, it has 3 outdoor table set and mostly indoor (maybe about 12 or so), the table placed not too far (sincerely, too narrow for covid protocol to be enrolled), However, right beside the entry door they placed a hand washer, and there is a staf who is in charge of checking the body temperature for visitors. All the staf also using a preventive mask.

There is some menu for main meal (not much), butMost of the menu is snack and their waffle, Various drinks option, like various kind of coffee. And the pricelist is quite affordable.

We followed a local recommendation and visited Warung Mbok Sul. From the outside, it looks like a high-end restaurant with potentially expensive menus. However, the prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food, the attentive service, and the pleasant ambiance.

The service was good, and the staff were helpful and informative. The menu has a nice variety of dishes, including Nasi Bancek which turned out to be quite enjoyable. I initially assumed that a place with such a well-designed setting might focus more on appearance than taste, but this restaurant offers a good balance between ambiance and the flavor of the food.

One limitation is that this place cannot accommodate a large number of people, so when I visited, a few guests had to join a waiting list. Overall, it’s a commendable place...

We were craving some spicy food on our last night in Banyuwangi, and Warung Mbok Sul truly delivered. The sambal tempong and sambal pecak were packed with bold, flavorful heat that satisfied our spice cravings perfectly!

To cool things down, we tried the Korean strawberry milk, which was a delightful surprise—light, refreshing, with fruity bobba that balanced the heat beautifully.

The atmosphere was also great, with a jazzy playlist that added a unique touch to our spicy meal—something we didn’t expect but thoroughly enjoyed.
