Flores Island is famous for its coffee beans. It becomes renown as coffee producers and distrbutors nationally even globally. Thanks to its very fertile lands, especially in The Greater Area of Manggarai and Ngada Regency, that they can be called as one of the most large and best quality exporter for coffee beans. The Greater of Manggarai and Ngada Regency so far are the only regions which supported by its local government for doing its coffee business in Flores Island. Covered by both mountainous area of the most of their region, they are in a healthy competition in terms of offering their coffee beans, whether its arabica beans with its higher values or robusta beans with its lower values.

Talking about the coffee enthusiasts in Flores Island, Lekosoro Coffee Shop has been a pioneer in raising awareness the value of coffee in Ngada Regency. They are managing both the upstream and downstream of its own Ngadanese coffee beans, to raise awareness of the legendary arabica coffee in Ngada Regency which has been growing since the Holland colonizaion era. Recognized by their efforts, Lekosoro Coffee often got request to be involved in such a collaboration between the local governments and local communities in many events being held. Eventhough they said that they were not getting enough appreciation through those events, they are still maintaining their courage to struggle with the coffee shop they have dedicated to become the 1st and best coffee shop in Flores Island, especially in Ngada Regency. Amazing coffee and atmosphere. The drinks are amazing and they also sell their own home-planted coffee beans, definitely a good place to buy local coffee beans.

The atmosphere is amazing during the night. The spot is a popular local hangout place. There's live music when I visited and I have to say, the pianist is one of the most talented musicians I've seen, he's been improvising like crazy with various English and Indonesian pop songs and it's such a delight to listen to it live. The singer/staff of the shop is amazing too. Too bad I'm only there for a night otherwise I would live to be back to listen to them live again!

One downside is definitely the smoking culture, as a non smoker allergic to smoke it's definitely hard for me to find a spot without much smoke to enjoy the music and...

The place to be in Bajawa when speaking about coffee. The owner is a kind person and he prepares quasi religiously the desired coffee while explaining the coffee. The owner will prepare your coffee order, in powder, in grain, roasted or not. Prices are reasonable for top quality coffees selected by a specialist. Roasting will last about 10 minutes, which will be enough to taste for example a yellow grain coffee "Yellow Caturra". A must visit for coffee fans.
