MAIBETH RESTAURANT — Restaurant in East Nusa Tenggara

The worst food i had during the time i was in Flores. We ordered fried noodles and fried rice, & the food arrived only after 35mins or so. I was pretty sure that my driver in Flores actually went backstage in the kitchen to actually help in cooking and/or food preparation. When the food arrived though, she gave us a huge portion of both the rice & noodles- it was ridiculous. The server(also the cook) looked clueless as to what she was doing & didnt even know how to open the beer bottle! I saw her expression when she opened a few beer bottles for other customers. We feel a little bad writing this review as the lady was really friendly, but the food was so bad. We ordered nasi goreng and it was the worst dish we had in our three months in Indonesia. The rice was wet and soggy and the flavour was like tomato ketchup. The lady told us before we ordered (even though we didn’t ask) that her prices were expensive because the portion sizes were big. I met a new friend at a homestay, we both had chicken schnitzel for lunch by night time we were both having diarrhea. I told the owner and she said impossible. Lasted through the night finished in morning. This restaurant is three times more expensive than local food i expect better. Perhaps its a bacteria caused by not washing hands before preparation or reusing oil til it spoils.
