My favorite long-time restaurant has finally opened a new outlet near my home! I have to say, Angke's new outlet is a game-changer. The grand interior gives off a luxurious vibe, and the food is simply amazing, with a lot of variety. I was pleasantly surprised by the spacious and luxurious interior, which added a pleasant twist to my dining experience.
Although the prices are on the expensive side, it's definitely worth it to invite more people and try more dishes when you dine here. The portions are generous, and the quality of the ingredients is top-notch. Many of the tables can cater to 10 people, which is great for groups. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to book the VIP room to this day since it seems to be in high demand. The room overlooking the fish pond was gorgeous.
My favorite menu items were Babi Hong, Lumpia Goreng, and the lesser-known Daging Gurame cah Sayuran. I also tried the Bakmi Sapi cah Kangkung the other day, and while I still think it's worth a try, the sauce and noodle were a bit drier compared to the ones I tried at their other outlet.
(No photos as I was already hungry and forgot to take haha it's just that...
Read moreThis is the latest branch of the famous Angke restaurant brand which has been serving traditional Chinese food for many years. The decor outside and inside is very nice with a small koi pond which will keep the kids entertained for a bit. Many tables are available either indoor or semi-outdoor for the smokers and also private rooms. Lindung aka eel was fried to crispy goodness with the salty sweet sauce complimenting the dish. The pork belly was soft and the salted vegetable provided contrast to the soy sauce. The steam fish and lumpia udang are also pretty good. Although there are plenty of waiters around but for some reason everyone seems to be busy all the time so it's pretty hard to get someone's attention. Food - 9 Service - 8 Vibe -...
Read moreWent here earlier this year after some time. Previous visit was good. But this one not really. Actually the food was nice until we ordered udang goreng tepung. It feels like eating pisang goreng, tepung was really sweet, doesnât match with the shrimp, weird. And then here comes the mango pudding.
We ordered one and itâs fine even though the liquid texture felt weird until we ordered for another one. The 2nd one have different texture, different smell, and different taste. Awful. Texture is more like mucus, smells like expired food, tasted sour. We had to cancel it. And we donât get any compensation for that (itâs really not a good food).
Lumpia udang still the best here....
